1 | Were angels created on day 2 or 3? | Prov 3:5 | mark d seyler | 128751
Ps 104: 1 Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty, 2 Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak, Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain. 3 He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters; He makes the clouds His chariot; He walks upon the wings of the wind; 4 He makes the winds His messengers, Flaming fire His ministers. 5 He established the earth upon its foundations, So that it will not totter forever and ever. 6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters were standing above the mountains. 7 At Your rebuke they fled, At the sound of Your thunder they hurried away. Job 38:4 "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding, 5 Who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it? 6 "On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone, 7 When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy? On the first day, God created light, and separated the light from the dark. Gen 1:3-5 On the second day, God created an expanse in the midst of the waters, Gen 1:6-8 On the third day, God gathered the waters below heaven, and dry land appeared. Gen 1:9-10 God tells Job that the angels were there when He laid the foundation of the earth. Psalm 104 parallels the creation, with vs. 2 the first day, the creation of light, vs. 3 the second day, “lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters”, and vs. 5-7 the appearing of dry land. In between vss. 3 and 5, it seems to be speaking of the creation of the angels after or at the end of the 2nd day, but prior to “establishing the earth on its foundations”. Does anyone have any comments on this? Love in Christ, Mark |

2 | Were angels created on day 2 or 3? | Prov 3:5 | Glory Bound | 128752
Dear soul, you may wish to turn to the following passage for your answer to this question, for there is no other answer that is scriptural. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: Proverbs 3:5-7 In Christ and His word GB |

3 | Were angels created on day 2 or 3? | Prov 3:5 | mark d seyler | 128831
Hi Glory Bound, You have picked a verse I rely upon daily. I know my frailty and inability to choose the right way in which I should go, and need the Lord Jesus to guide me every step. I know His promises to do just that are true and faithful, and I trust Him to lead me. This is an important part of my rest in Him. I do not see how these verses relate to the question I asked, unless it is to say that you are not aware of additional scripture that addresses the creation of angels. This is not an important issue to me, just something I noticed in my reading. Let me know if I misunderstood. Thank you. Love in Christ, Mark |

4 | Were angels created on day 2 or 3? | Prov 3:5 | Glory Bound | 128843
What I was saying is that there is much that we will not understand while in the flesh. Many seem to place much importance on such matters. We were not commanded to understand such trivial matters. They tend to side track us from what we were commanded to do. And what was it we were commanded to do? GB |

5 | Were angels created on day 2 or 3? | Prov 3:5 | mark d seyler | 128847
The command I had in mind was "study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." There is nothing in the Word of God that I do not want to know. The greatest passion in my life is to become closer to and more like my Lord Jesus, and His Word is my primary way. I believe that if He said something, there is reason and purpose, and I don't consider it trivial. Again, the idea of when angels were created is not on the same level to me as whether or not my salvation is based on God's faithfulness or my faithfulness. But the truth is, there is no subject in scripture that does not interest me. I want to learn everything that my God wrote to me. Love in Christ, Mark |
