Dear Winningside, Fortunately, we need not discern based on single postings. We can go back and see the full set of anyone's posts, the wisdom or folly preserved since the beginning of the forum. Using this feature, we are able to detect trends in a poster. The most loving thing we can do is to correct their hetredoxy or error. Love isn't about just smiling happily at every wind of doctrine that blows through -- contrary to popular belief. Rebuke -- Biblical rebuke -- is bringing to bear the truth in a specific area for the benefit of the object of our rebuke. Neither is Biblical love just a matter of continuous amicable behavior -- another misconception often taught today. In Him, Doc |

Biblical love is pulling someone from the pits of hell. A sinner going down the wrong path. Correcting with a strong hand if need be. Not tearing to pieces another christian for asking a question. Not all people are on the same level at one time. You didn't start out "all-knowing" you learn and grow step-by-step. Sometimes you have to ask yourself "how would I answer this question if I were face to face with this person?" It is a brave thing to have the confort of looking at a computer screen. Rebuking with love is one thing and tearing to pieces is entirely another. Ecclesiasters 7:16 Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself? ------- winningside |
