1 | Eating meat with blood in it: Gen. 9:4 | Gen 9:4 | jcsav | 111886 | ||
Greetings, Minjackson There are Christian Organizations that teaches not to eat blood or meat not fully cooked (though they are not a part of the main stream Christians).This is one of Gods commandments and it is not Mosiac. It is still in effect as you can see in Acts 15:29. |

Thanks for responding jcsav. I know there are some groups, or one in particular, which forbid members from receiving certain medical treatments related to blood and the discussion surrounding that. My new question will be, what is the difference between Genesis 2:15-16 and Genesis 9:3,4? It seems to me that Genesis 2:15,16 was specifically for Adam and Eve in their times. It also seems logical that Genesis 9:3,4 refers to post flood times since the rainbow is still visible in the sky. I am trying to make sense of it all. Why do we then allow those who make our laws for growing and slaughtering animals to say it is o.k. to feed cattle the blood of other cattle, a practice which the usda just banned because of the mad cow outbreak here caused by infected feed? The concern as I see it is a new thing since refrigeration. Meat was carefully bled before refrigeration out of necessity to prevent spoilage. Refrigeration is a very good thing; but I don't think we understand some of the changes which have occured in the slaughterhouses since refrigeration that is a direct assault on Genesis 9 if it is still in effect. It is not a new thing however, that we would second guess the meaning of what God really said. Therefore, keep the ideas coming! Thanks for the input. minjackson |
