1 | What is God saying in this verse? | Gen 3:15 | Hallie | 107630
Some Bible studies interpret this verse to refer to Jesus. I find this whole verse confusing. Can anyone give me furthur insight? Thank You

Hi, Hallie! I find this Biblical verse the most impacting prophecy about the spiritual battle that has begun! There are many who would want to interpret mankind as the seed; thus giving us dominion over Satan--are we God? Revelation 12:1-17 is the expanded version of Genesis 3:15. Read both Bible passages and compare them: the ancient serpent cannot be defeated but by Christ! The attact on our Lord's lower exremity is a typification of Satan's attack on the temporal Church: "Then the dragon was enraged with the woman and went away to make war on the rest of her children, who obey God's commandments and have in themselves the witness of Jesus." (Revelation 12:17) As Christians, we represent Christ; but we can never be His substitutes. God Bless! |

Thank you for your reply. Revelations is a problem for me. After the first few chapters dealing with the Churches, the rest is GREEK to me. Thnak God for his Word to us, but He could have made Revelations easier to understand. Let us worhsip the Lord our God and give him the credit always. |

Greetings Hallie! Revelation is actually quite easy to understand. Is every symbol perfectly clear? No! Is each verse fully understood and agreed upon? No! But, the overall message of Revelation is crystal clear - God is sovereign. The world may rave against God. Satan may plot, but it will all be to no avail. God's will WILL be done! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Hi, Tim; Ok, this is probably not in keeping the guidelines .... Perhaps you've heard the story of the seminary student walking across the darkened campus late at night and finding an old night watchman reading Revelation. The student said, as students will, "Revelation is pretty heavy stuff. Do you understand it?" The watchman nodded. Skeptical, the student asked him to explain it. The watchman replied, "God wins." Greetings Steve! I agree! :-) I have taught through Revelation about 4 times now - verse by verse. My usual practice is to open up with a discussion of people's perceptions about the book. Usually people view it as a vague and frightening book. By the time we finish the study, everyone usually says that they cannot believe how positive the book actually is in terms of it's message. :-) Great illustration! Happy New Year my friend!
