1 | no sperm upon the ground | Gen 38:9 | EdB | 81041 | ||
Kingbass I have heard this saying many times, worded exactly as you have quoted it and it is no where to be found in the Protestant Bible. I suspect it's origins is from Catholicism. It may possibly be taught in Catholic Catechism. Maybe our friend Emmaus can shed some light on the teaching. EdB |

Dear Kingbass, Genesis 38:8-10 is worded in essentially the same way in the King James Bible,a Protestant version, and also the NASB and the NIV. By the way, the Catholic version of the Bible is the same as the Protestant Bible except for the addition of the aprocrypha. It does not teach anything any differently.The word of God is not corrupted in any way. The Roman Catholic teaching departs from Protestant teaching in that many of the teachings in the catechism, for instance, are not directly from the Bible but from tradition or Papal decree.
