1 | Evil already occured? | Gen 2:9 | Makarios | 9262 | ||
Great question! I believe that God knew of evil and knew of the potential for evil even before the war in heaven and Satan and his cohorts fell from their heavenly places. I suppose that God could have created a 'tree' to signify 'good and evil', and if one were to eat of this tree, then they would also have the capacity to sin- therefore inheriting the sinful nature forever. I believe that Satan and his cohorts already fell from heaven (before the creation of this tree and the Garden of Eden). Therefore, this would suggest that evil had already occurred. Then why did God put that particular tree in the Garden of Eden, therefore making it possible for mankind to sin? Another good question! And I do not know the answer. Nolan |

Nolan, You're right. Isa. 14:12-15 and Eze. 28:11-9 refer to Satan and his fall from heaven, according to some "experts." You are right the knowledge of good and evil made it possible for mankind to sin. They were innoncent, since God created them. We are born sinners - because of Adam and our fathe's seed. The serpent was in the Garden and enticed Eve to do evil, that is sin (Gen 3). The trees were there to give Adam and Eve a choice. Steve |
