1 | Did God bless the beasts as well | Gen 1:25 | skccab | 213300 | ||
Shalom Azure, That's an excellent question. To the 2 passages you used, they separate the different creatures: air and waters and earth. Man is more than an animal but we are "upon" the earth with the beasts, so it's quite possible that the blessing to man could spill over to anything else that walked or crept UPON the earth...?? This is just speculation, but do you think maybe He didn't bless the beasts on the earth specifically because He knew one of them would cause the havoc that took place after He had finished His work (Gen. 3:1)? Thanks for setting my brain to task....:o) Cheri |

Dear Cheri, Sorry for such a late reply to your post...so much (both physically and mentally) occupied by the Lunar New Year things :-) Things are getting back to normal now, I hope :-) I think both you and MJH had made the point well but still we (maybe it's just I) lack clear scriptural evidence. MJH's proposing the consideration of the Hebrew text could be helpful, then, I need someone to help on this aspect :-) Or maybe I just take it at face value since it is pretty trivial after all. Hiya sis, No problem. I meant to wish you a happy new year but I thought of it too early, then I must admit that I forgot it.... :o( So - A belated Happy!! I can't give anymore ideas on this. Since MJH mentioned the Hebrew wording, maybe there's something there. I'll bring it up to my pastor (we're going thru the book of Genesis anyway). He teaches Hebtew, so maybe he can enlighten us? I'll let you know what he says this weekend. :o) Cheri |
