Greetings, I just wanted to add one thing to searchers reply. In addition to what he said you can also speak negative things into your life. For example if you continuously say can my car is old and about to break down then pretty soon your car will break down because you have spoken it into existance. But if you say my car is old but it has a lot longer before it is going to stop running, you will be amazed how long that car will last. prayon | ||||||

Dear Prayon, This interests me. The laws of nature are part of the decrees of God. Harmony, order, and design demonstrate the power of God -- both in His creation and preservation of the universe. He divinely maintains the continuity of the universe -- which is a clear manifestation of His character -- as an act of common grace. What you are suggesting, therefore, is that a mere human being can contravene the will of God in creation by uttering a statement a sufficient (whatever that might be) number of times. This raises several interesting questions: How does this differ from what a heathen attempts through incantations? Why would God, then, insist that believers avoid such things (Deut 18:11)? If God would allow the contravening of physics in the fashion that you mention, how does this differ from a person saying "True is false" over and over again? Would you really like to live in a universe that fundamentally changed just because people spoke something contrary to how it functioned? In Him, Doc |
