1 | Elohim instead of God | Gen 1:1 | Morant61 | 19961
Greetings Loveiskind3! You make a good point, but there are a couple of items which need clarification. 1) Elohim is Hebrew. 2) Elohim is plural in form, but singular in meaning. This doesn't necesarily point to the Trinity, but it could be an indicator. Apparently, some Hebrew words (especially those which occur in pairs, like hand) occur only in a plural form. 3) Elohim is used 2606 times in the Old Testament. So it does occur in more than just Gen 1. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Elohim is from the hebrew texts and it is singular in meaning (One God three Persons)but Plural in that contexts. In the context of Gen 1 is regarding Creation, the Word Elohim is used to state God in plural.Let us create..... etc...Whenever u find Elohim in a plural form it indicates God as a Triune God. Paul in the New Testament blesses the Church in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Man was created tripartite also(in the image of God) spirit, soul and body. Thank You for ur reply. God bless u as u seek HIM.

Comments..................................... Greetings Loveiskind3! Thanks for the response! I agree with you about the Trinity, but not everyone agrees that the Trinity is found in the form of the word 'elohim.' Most see it as either a natural occurance or as a royal 'we.' So, 'elohim' and the "Let us...." passages are part of the evidence for the Trinity, but they are not the strongest evidence. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

it is the strongest evidence since is found at creation. God wanted us to know at creation that He is Elohim, One God Three distinct persons. Are u demanding a verdict? Hahahaha! And with God He doesnt just let a "natural occurence or a royal "we" to make us guess, He is very specific.
