2 | Righteous, Unrighteous and Children? | Gen 18:28 | fatherchuck | 12571 | ||
Righteousness and unrighteousness are the products of moral judgement, choices. The ability to know right from wrong and to make choices based on that knowledge. Innocence is the absence of the knowledge of right and wrong. The moral knowledge required for making righteous or unrighteous choices is lacking in the innocent/ children. The children were neither righteous nor unrighteous. they were innocent, morally neutral. And perhaps as in the case of Jeroboam's son they were taken by the Lord to spare them from the inevitable corruption that would be their lot in such societies. |
