1 | Which God appeared and talked to Abram? | Gen 17:1 | 00123 | 232470
Who was the LORD (the Almighty God) to whom this verse refers? Is He God the Father, God the Son, or God the Holy Spirit? Which God appeared and talked to Abram?
2 | Which God appeared and talked to Abram? | Gen 17:1 | EdB | 232476
Genesis 17:1 (NASB) 1 Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless. John 1:18 (NASB) 18 No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him. It seems we have a contradiction but let us consider yet one more verse. John 4:24 (NASB) 24 "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." I believe this tells us God the Father is Spirit and natural man in his present form does not see Spirits. What we are seeing is a Christophanies, that is when one the Godhead becomes manifest to natural man it is really Jesus Christ that man is actually seeing. I might add this is the only explanation that removes the clear contradiction between Gen 17:1 and John 1:18 |

3 | Which God appeared and talked to Abram? | Gen 17:1 | elder4yhwh | 232523
My view on Gen 17 is that whomever Abram was speaking to was an respensitive sent on God's behalf (it was a fleshly being) Here are some other scriptures to vailidate my point. Gen 32:22-32 It was a person (he wrestled with) Num 14:14 He appeared in the Fire and the cloud (something that they can see) Duet 5:4 He spoke from fire which in that tense he communicated with him by means of fire. Judges 6:22 Once again it was a respresentive sent by God with a answer. In all places mentioned above a person can "see God" in HIS many forms. |

4 | God in a human form | Gen 17:1 | 00123 | 232525
Is that biblically true that God who appeared in a human form in the Old testament was always Jesus, never God the Father or God the Holy Spirit?
5 | God in a human form | Gen 17:1 | elder4yhwh | 232526
Jesus has always been our advocate even in the Old Testament. God the Father doesn't deal with sinners directly. |
