I go to school with this kid that says that Jesus did not die on the cross. and i was wondering if there was a verse that said something about it and i was wondering if someone could explain the verse Psalms 83:18 to me it says "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth" because i think the kid is jehovah witness and so i was wondering if hes thinking that the only name for God is Jehovah. sorry if i confused you...but thanks Cassie |

2 | What does the verse Psalms 83:18 say? | Ps 83:18 | Hank | 83908
Actually, Cassie, the crucifixion of Christ is clearly and graphically revealed by all four Gospels. Please invite your untutored friend to read the accounts of Christ's Passion (the events leading up to and including His crucifixion) that are recorded in the final chapters of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. As to your reference to "Jehovah," the plain truth is that the word "Jehovah" is an adulteration of the tetragrammaton YHWH and is not usually found in modern translations at all, having been replaced by LORD, as in Psalm 83:18, the passage you cited. The one modern translation, which is hardly worthy of the name, wherein you will find the word "Jehovah" used in abundance is the New World Translation (NWT), which is flatly a farce. It is a biased, unreliable, and unworthy product of the cult known as Jehovah's Witnesses. --Hank
