1 | Knowledge of why they are in torment? | Luke | stjohn | 196583 | ||
Well Chuck, that was a pretty long way around, and quite a bit of conjecture on your part as well. I would just have to say that it would be absolutely against all reason, that they should be damned to eternal hell and not know why they are there, that would be quite pointless, and I don't think that God would do something pointless. Would a just judge, send someone to jail, and not tell them why-?? Now that would not make any sense at all-!! Oh well my friend, I guess we will just have to disagree. God bless John |

Greetings stjohn, The only thing that even comes close to the rich man even having a clue might come from verse 30. Luke 16:30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. Emphasis on (they will repent) The problem with the word “repent”, as used here in the English is that it doesn’t convey the meaning as the word use in the Koine Greek and what it actually means. (Strong's) metanoeo,; from Greek 3326 (meta) and Greek 3539 (noieo); to think differently or afterwards, i.e. reconsider (moral feel compunction) :- repent. METANOEO is directional word and it’s like a compass. A compass is useless unless one has some idea of where they are and then the direction they need to go to change their position. Spiritual direction: Without the Holy Spirit we would be in a hopeless situation. John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 2 Tim. 2:25-26 (B) (if God peradventure will give them repentance) to the acknowledging of the truth; 26And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. I guess we can agree to disagree! CDBJ |

Thanks Brother, I really appreciate your efforts, but, I still don't see, at all, how justice would be served, by them not knowing what they are missing; most of all, and especially, why they are missing it. That would be illogical, and, I think, unjust. I don't think God is illogical, or, unjust. Thanks again, my friend, but in any language, I don't follow your logic. Bless you Brother. :-) Hope you had/are having, a good holiday! God bless John |
