1 | Bible to be taken literally? | Matthew | Morant61 | 106282 | ||
Greetings Searcher! Thanks for the kind response my friend! The only part that I am positive about is the relationship between the clauses. Verse 18 says '...will not disappear until everything is accomplished'. As I understand this verse, everything was accomplished when Christ died on the cross. This would explain Paul's various comments regarding the 'end of the Law' and 'no longer being under the Law', ect.... It is not that the Law was destroyed, but that it accomplished it's purpose and no longer is binding upon us. I hope that makes sense! :-) I haven't slept much today! ;-) Let me know what you think my friend! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Tim. I think the penalty of the Law is no longer binding ... If it was no longer binding, we wouldn't need the OT and I think it lets us know what God wants. Most of it is good for us to follow. Hebrews shows us that the OT is incomplete without Christ ... Chapters 9-10 show me He did away with the sin sacrifice. Searcher |
