1 | Law v Faith. Are Jews Condemened? | Leviticus | EdB | 146900 | ||
Ray May I offer this possibility? But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God." In the first sentence both God and His Spirit would be capitalized, for reasons that are obvious. However in the second sentence I might not capitalized Spirit (as in our spirit's natural hunger for God and something to worship) when reflected back to the first sentence the Holy Spirit reveals those things. However this wouldn't play well with those that believe our spirit is dead before salvation however in every culture we see a natural hunger for a (god) to worship. Another way around this objection would be to say this is talking about souls that are regenerated already. :-) Just a thought. EdB |

Hi EdB, I see your thought as an excellent one. The Spirit doesn't need to search the depths of God for the Spirit of God knows the thoughts of God. However, the spirit searches all things, even the spirit that is in a man, for who knows a man's thoughts except the spirit of the man? 1) Continuing on to verse 12, here is my interpretation using capitalization. "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the *spirit which is from God, that we might know the things freely given to us by God." Thanks Ed. From the heart, Ray |
