1 | Do you disobey this commandment? | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 43611
I agree that those who are placing their faith on keeping sabbath, or on any other point of the law, have accepted a wrong emphasis. But are you saying that you don't keep any day as a sabbath? Just curious.
2 | Are we expected to keep the sabath? | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 43571
Ezk 20:11-13 ...but the HOUSE OF ISRAEL Ex. 31:12-18 ...speak to the SON'S OF ISRAEL It is a sign between God and the descendants of Israel ( the Jews ). Jesus is descended from Israel and as a son of Israel was obligated to keep that sabbath, as also He was circumcised according to the PERPETUAL, EVERLASTING, covenant God established between Himself and all the descendants of Abraham, Ex: 17-11. As son's of Abraham through faith is circumcision another requirement all males in the church must keep to be in obedience to Him? By your reasoning I would say so. |

3 | What is a perpetual covenant | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 43560
It is a perpetual covenant between THE SON'S OF ISRAEL ( THE JEWS) and God, not the gentiles.

And so you would strain out the gnat and swallow the camel.
5 | Who made Sunday a day of worship | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 43552
If you look further back into the history of the church you will find that the earliest christians, the disciples of the apostles, kept saturday AND sunday as sabbath. As time progressed sunday became the sabbath for the christians. Both days were recognized by the church fathers, sunday eventually becoming the christian's sabbath as division between jew and christian widened.
6 | Why did God create time? | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 35428
Could it be that God created time so that everything wouldn't happen all at once? Time is like a filing system that allows a finite creature with limited capabilities to deal with what happens in an orderly manner. It allows order to be established in the creation. |

8 | There is no impossible with GOD? | Ps 34:8 | fatherchuck | 17059
I know this isn't fair, but He did die, on a cross in Jerusalem, about 2000 years ago. But He just was to full of Life to stay dead. |

9 | There is no impossible with GOD? | Ps 34:8 | fatherchuck | 17058
He requires no rules to govern His conduct. He is by nature good and therefore rules are not relevant to Him except as a means by which He may reveal Himself to man. Being God He can do anything that He chooses to do, but His choices are the expressions of His nature which is essentially good. Chuck |

10 | God and Law | Ps 34:8 | fatherchuck | 17057
Yes, the ten commandments are an expression of Who He is, but He is much more than that. They are internalized in Him ,but again they are not the fullest expression of His Nature. That would be Jesus. The law is good being an expression of God's moral nature, but it exposes the fallen nature of man by the contrast between the two. The law was also given to teach man what was good and to give man a standard by which to judge good and evil. Blessings on you |

11 | No Rules, Just Right! | Ps 34:8 | fatherchuck | 16952
God is good because He is God. Look it up in the dictionary under good and you will find Him there. He is good because that is His Nature, He cannot be otherwise. He can no more do wrong than you could stop your heart and hold your breath till you died. He is the standard for good by which all other goodness is to be judged. Gold is gold because it posesses the properties of gold, not because it obeys the rules for gold. And it obeys the rules for gold because it already has the properties of gold. So also is God good. As for man's goodness being determined by the law... not hardly. The law establishes man's sinfulness, shows man how far he is already from the goodness of which God is the standard. Man without the law is not good, but simply without accountability. The law does not create sin, it reveals the sin that is already in man. Now for God, no, there are no rules for Him. He doesn't need them! Fatherchuck |

12 | Resurrection of 2 witnesses and Rapture? | Revelation | fatherchuck | 14063
Hello Tim, Why not the second half rather than the first or sometime in between. If you look at what they do during the time of their ministry it would seem that most of that type of activity happens during the second period of the tribulation. just a thought, Chuck |

14 | Resurrection of 2 witnesses and Rapture? | Revelation | fatherchuck | 13918
Just a note... that the two witnesses begin their ministry at the begining of the tribulation may be an assumption. Does Rev. state when their ministry begins? It tells us how long they minister, but not when they start. Jesus will come as a thief in the night to those unprepared for Him, not His church. To the world His appearance will be their destruction, but to us it will be the consumation of our hope. As the arrival of the angels was Lot's salvation, but Sodom's destruction. |

16 | in the spirit | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 13844
You are right in that you say man is not sure what to call the Almighty and that man is not capable of properly labeling Him. That has been man's problem from the beginning. That is why He revealed Himself to man through the prophets of the Old Testament and why He came to us in the Person of His Son. So that He might tell us Himself ,Who He is and what His Name is, and how we can know Him for ourselves. He has a Name, He is not a force. A name He has chosen, not one given to Him by another, and a Name He wants you to know.
17 | in the spirit | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 13843
God is NOT ALL. He is separate from His creation which in no way lessens Who He is. He is above good and evil, He is Life and in Him is the true life man was meant to experience. If I understand you, are you asking we are to test His strength? I think that the purpose of our creation was to be the objects of His Love. Grace to you. |

18 | where is paradise? | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 13842
Psalm 16 will tell you where paradise is and why it is paradise. Ver. 11 Thou wilt make known to me the path of life; In Thy Presence is fulness of joy; In Thy right hand are pleasures forever. Paradise is being in the presence of God. An experience He makes possible through the sacrifice of His Son. For when the issue of sin has been dealt with He then makes His home in the heart of the believer. He indwells one who has not yet physically died. In His Presence is fulness of joy! |
