42 | Should Children Die For Parent's Sin? | Deut 24:16 | fatherchuck | 11036
Sin is not self contained. While each is held accountable for their own sin, the consequences of ones sins are not limited to the one who commits the sin. Adam and Eve sinned, all died. David sinned, the consequences of that sin tragicaly affected many beyond himself. The primary responsibility rests with the one who sins, but the consequences often cause loss to others. Ex 20:5 and Deu 5:9 in context is a contrast demonstrating God's nature. ...Visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the THIRD and FOURTH generations of those who hate Me, BUT showing lovingkindness( a covenant term) to THOUSANDS, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. It's purpose to demonstrate Who God is. That He limits the consequences of the fathers sins to the third and fourth generation, but shows lovingkindness( a covenant term)to THOUSANDS who love Him. It also shows what the consequences are of one's choice, whether to love the Lord or hate Him. |

43 | Why Doesn't God Desire Sacrifices? | Ps 51:16 | fatherchuck | 11018
Good news/bad news( depending on where you are with Him) Steve. The good news is that God does still require sacrifices and gives extensive instructions on what, how, when, and where they are to be presented. Bad(?) news.. Rom.12:1, you're it! The instructions start with the Gospels and continue on through the epistles. Our daily lives are to be the sacrifice. Jesus said that unless we carry our cross( an instrument of sacrifce) daily, we cannot be His disciples. Perhaps it was this personal sacrifice that caused many of the jews to stumble, for it is much easier to give material possessions than to give ones life.As the enemy said to God about Job," all that a man has he will give for his life" It is this life that God requires as our sacrifice. |

44 | Why Babylon to punish righteous Israel? | Habakkuk | fatherchuck | 10907
Who do you suggest that He use? The angels? That Israel was more righteous than the Babylonians is not borne out in scripture. Indeed they were more guilty before God than Babylon, because they had His laws, the prophets, the priests, everything needed to put them in a right relationship with Him. All of which they ignored. All of which they used to rationalize their disobedience. After all God would surely not destroy His own temple, he surely would not allow the heathen to capture the Ark of the Covenant. That He would use nations that were ungodly was a further rebuke to the Israelites who considered themselves above the other nations and holding such an exalted position in God's eyes that God wouldn't bring them to account for their sins. They didn't really believe that He is no respecter of persons, or nations.
45 | interacial dating | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 10903
Perhaps God does not clearly state whether His people should or should not marry interracially because it is not an issue with Him. Throughout the Bible His issue with His people has been purity of faith, not blood.

Hello, Interacial dating presupposes more than one race. We have common parents, Adam and Eve. All their descendants are of the same race, human. Races as they are presented today are a human contrivance to diferentiate between types of people, perhaps to justify mistreating those different from themselves. |
