3 | end time fire, is it real or not? | 2 Pet 3:7 | ddaugherty | 107923
Hello Makarios, I agree, He has risen and He is coming and we are definitely living in the end times! We have been since the time of His resurrection. My point was not arguing that fact, but rather that although we all know that Christ will come again and that He is coming, our time line is different than that of the Lords. All of the scriptures you posted there are wonderful reading and do tell us that He is coming, how He is coming and what it will be like when He does arrive. I cannot wait for His Glorious Reappearing! People tend to get caught up in the fact that Christ is coming again and they seem to always think that it is RIGHT NOW. I am not one who pretends to know when that time is, for in fact I don't. None of us do. Christ will come and when He comes it will be with a host to destroy all evil that lives (physically and spiritually) upon this earth. Oh, what a day that will be! As with all Christians, I too would love to be a part of His Glorious Reappearing and to be involved in the war against Satan, his angels, and his minions. We cannot forget though that we must also live and abide by the laws of God until that day. So, no matter when He does reappear, we must continue living our lives through Christ and to be living it as though He would. We cannot get caught up in hoping that TODAY is THE DAY so much that we forget to LIVE in Christ. So, if that day comes while I am still alive in Christ or if it happens after I have died in Christ, it really doesn’t matter because no matter what… I am with Christ. Peace be with you. Dan |

4 | end time fire, is it real or not? | 2 Pet 3:7 | ddaugherty | 107853
So far, everyone is correct. :o) One thing I ask you to remember... This has been a question asked every century since Jesus Christ was resurrected. Everyone seems to think the "NOW" will be "THIS" generation. I give you the following to consider in that respect. I was actually reading 2 Thessalonians today, this early afternoon and then came upon this question... I hope this helps. These are the words written by Paul with Silas and Timothy as well, to the church of Thessalonians. 2 THE 2:1-4 - "Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come. Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God." In this verse we see "...for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed..." Unfortunately, we are still waiting for the "man of lawlessness" to be revealed. 2 THE 2:7-10: "For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing." This still holds true even after a couple of thousand centuries. The secret power of lawlessness is still at work. It is, even now, stronger than ever. We are still waiting to see the counterfeit miracles, signs of wonders and all of the other evil that will accompany that time. Remember that only the Lord knows when this day will be, when he will remove the restrictions placed on Satan and the day that our Savior will come again. It doesn’t matter if he comes tomorrow or even still if it is a thousand more years away. If we follow what Paul said in 2 THE 3:2-5: “And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance.” then we will be just fine. May the Lord bless you all and may you do all in His name. God Bless. Dan |

5 | What is God saying in this verse? | Gen 3:15 | ddaugherty | 107633
Prior to this verse, GEN 3:14 - So the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. " So in that following verse, yes God was talking about the coming of Jesus Christ. GAL 4:4-5 states - "But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons." |

6 | Trinity Doctrine? | Bible general Archive 2 | ddaugherty | 107617
Good questions... Although, I am not a theologian, hopefully this will answer your question. The first things to acknowledge (or understand) is this. God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are one. I am not trying to preach the trinity to you but, hopefully to help you understand. Once the diciples asked Christ that if they could see the face of God as Moses did, it would help them believe better. Jesus told them that by looking into His face they are seeing the face of God. In Acts 19:4-6 Paul said, "...John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus." On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them..." So in knowing this, is it not wise to assume that the three are truly one? I am sure there are more supporting verses in the bible that others will show you. These are the ones that stand out in my mind. |

7 | GOSPEL OR SECULAR MUSIC WHICH ONE ; WHY | Eph 5:19 | ddaugherty | 107613
This is strictly my opinion as I listen to nearly ALL music. Although Ephesians 5:19 says to "Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord...", I am fairly certain that all music (that which doesn't promote hate, violence, etc. or that promotes non-secular beliefs (against God and the bible)) is fine. I look at it this way... if it makes you happy, peaceful and full of joy then there is no harm. We can listen to any music and still sing praises of the Lord in our hearts, in our souls and in our minds. Again, these are just my personal thoughts on this. |

8 | Issues with LDS religion | Not Specified | ddaugherty | 107609
WARNING - This is a long one. :o) My girlfreind is LDS and we have talked about the book of mormon on several occassions. When we discuss inconsistancies when compared to the bible, she says that although she loves her religion deeply, she cannot answer my questions. I am not trying to argue with her, but I do have some questions and comments. The first is this... in GAL 5:7 it says "...some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ." and in GAL 5:8 it says "...even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!" Here are my questions... The book of mormom preaches in it introduction two things that causes me distress: 1) Joseph Smith relates that the angel Moroni came to him several times in a dream (in one night) and passed on information concerning the gold plates to him. Moroni is the earthly son of a man named Mormom (after which the religion is named after) and after he died, became an angel of God; and 2) Joseph Smith (in the introducation) also relates that the book of mormon is the most correct of any book on earth and that man would get nearer to God by abiding to it rather than any other book. These two things cause me to reject the book of mormon almost immediately. The fact that a man dies and becomes and angel and that the book of mormon is the only book that will get you close to God (over the bible even). Am I alone in seeing this or am I being over reactive or misreading the information in some way? I would appreciate any responses. |
