Bible Question: I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH THIS FOR A WHILE NOW, I HAVE BEEN A CHRISTIAN FOR CLOSE TO TWO YEARS NOW AND I ENJOY LISTENING TO SECULAR MUSIC, I KNOW IAM NOT SUPPOSE TO,I SUPPOSE TO LISTEN TO GOSPEL MUSIC, WHERE IN THE BIBLE DO IT SAY WE CAN'T LISTEN TO THIS MUSIC AND WHY CAN'T WE LISTEN TO THIS MUSIC. I AM A 34 YR OLD FEMALE AND HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 12 YRS. PLEASE HELP! THKS |
Bible Answer: This is strictly my opinion as I listen to nearly ALL music. Although Ephesians 5:19 says to "Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord...", I am fairly certain that all music (that which doesn't promote hate, violence, etc. or that promotes non-secular beliefs (against God and the bible)) is fine. I look at it this way... if it makes you happy, peaceful and full of joy then there is no harm. We can listen to any music and still sing praises of the Lord in our hearts, in our souls and in our minds. Again, these are just my personal thoughts on this. |
