1 | why was paul so careful | Phil 4:11 | One | 138557
I don’t think Paul here is trying to say he is not dependent on their gifts, but he wants them to know he is not dependent on things. Paul later speaks of a secret of being happy in wealth and in poverty and when he is hungry and when he is filled. The key is to know that you can do all things through God. This is a great verse for a new Christian because it is easy for most to see how we might have struggles when we are poor or hungry. However, we don’t see the problem with wealth or being filled. We see these as blessings and what is the problem here? Take a look at this verse: Prov 30:8 Keep deception and lies far from me, Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is my portion, 9 That I not be full and deny You and say, "Who is the LORD?" Or that I not be in want and steal, And profane the name of my God. You see the rich and the poor both have struggles that are different. Paul here let us see happiness doesn’t come from knowing what we want or what we need. Paul here lets a Christian know that happiness come when we limit our desires by saying all I need is God! |

2 | The scriptures and U.S. Mid East Policy | Rev 12:12 | One | 137865
Yes, it does. I find this passage interesting as we see many nations turn agains terroism and the people who support them. I find is so frustrating when Muslims on one hand say they don't condon terrorist, but then they will say we have to understand the terroists anger. To me the middle east will not have peace because they willnot accept the prince of peace. One |

4 | Two versions of conversation? | Matt 27:44 | One | 106581
Let me confuse you a little more before I give you what I feel is the solution. The question is not why one of the robbers change thier mind, the true question is why did both robbers change thier minds? If you look at Lukes account both robbers asked to have thier life save. One asked for Jesus to save himself and then save us (physiscal life). The other asked for his spiritual life to be save (Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!")Now let us all remember the end of the story Luke 23:47 Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began praising God, saying, "Certainly this man was innocent." At first none of the people at the cross were believers (Except the core followers there) but in the end many were convinced Jesus was the son of God. |

6 | Why transliterate "baptizo"? | Bible general Archive 1 | One | 77083
In the days of the KJV the Catholic Church practiced sprinkling exclusively. If the translators would have translated it immersion King James would have most likely cut their heads off (Cutting their heads off is a personal opinion). So to keep from getting in trouble with the king and to stay honest with the text they transliterated the word baptizo.
7 | Is the first resurrection, the rapture? | Bible general Archive 1 | One | 76370
I have a question Jesus stated a well know fact in Matt 4:10 Then Jesus *said to him, "Go, Satan! For it is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'" I think we would all agree to this that we are to worship God and serve only. I think we would also agree with Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Now for those who hold to these two things and does not believe Jesus is equal to Jehovah God presents a major problem. Here is why: Jesus had people who worshiped Him though out the New Testament and He never rebuked them for doing this. Matt 2:11 After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Matt 28:9 And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. Matt 28:17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. Second, the proper thing for someone being worshiped, who is not God, to do is to tell them to STOP! Rev 22:8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things. Rev 22:9 But he *said to me, "Do not do that. I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who heed the words of this book. Worship God." So the question now is, is Jesus equal to God and is worthy of worship or is He sinful for not stopping people for worshipping Him? |

8 | what was moses attitude toward women? | Bible general Archive 1 | One | 74341
1 Pet 3:7 You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered. Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. The Bible has always treated women as the equal of man even though wives are to be submissive to their husbands. Just like the Father and the Son are equal yet Christ had a submissive role to the Father. The Koran is much different there you will find women have a submissive role, however if they do not obey their husbands the husband is instructed to beat their wife and refuse her to sleep with him. Surah 004 (AN-NISAA) : Ayah 034 004.034 Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because God has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what God would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For God is Most High, great (above you all). |

9 | Was Daniel a eunuch? | Ezek 14:14 | One | 73589
It really not all that clear many think Isa 39:7 refers to Daniel and the Hebrew children and in some versions it says they where made eunuchs which differs from the NASB "they were made officials." Others use the verses below to show he did have children. Those who believe Daniel was a eunuch say Ezekel was using this as an example saying more or less even if Daniel had sons or daughters they could not be save by Daniel’s righteousness, which is possible. Ezek 14:14 even though these three men, Noah, Daniel and Job were in its midst, by their own righteousness they could only deliver themselves," declares the Lord GOD. Ezek 14:20 even though Noah, Daniel and Job were in its midst, as I live," declares the Lord GOD, "they could not deliver either their son or their daughter. They would deliver only themselves by their righteousness." |

10 | Answer or not? Proverbs 26:4,5 | Prov 26:4 | One | 73487
I think Jesus gave us an example of the answer to this question when He answerd the the leaders trying to trick Him, not as they wanted, but answerd in wisdom. Luke 20:22 "Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?" Luke 20:23 But He detected their trickery and said to them, Luke 20:24 "Show Me a denarius. Whose likeness and inscription does it have?" They said, "Caesar's." Luke 20:25 And He said to them, "Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." Luke 20:26 And they were unable to catch Him in a saying in the presence of the people; and being amazed at His answer, they became silent. |

12 | How can we experience God's presence? | Mark 6:48 | One | 73445
Mark 6:48 Seeing them straining at the oars, for the wind was against them, at about the fourth watch of the night He *came to them, walking on the sea; and He intended to pass by them. Read this story some time it is good. Basically Jesus has sent His disciples a head to the other side of a lake that a few miles across. The disciples row all night and are now only half way across. Jesus has spent all night watching them and praying now He walks out on the water to them and intends on passing them by. So where is Jesus during their struggle? Watching! Where is He when there afraid on the water? Waiting for them to call out! To many times I think we are like the apostles we struggle asking where is God, instead of saying God help me have strength to endure, and know God is there watching rooting us on. |

13 | John12:23-36 | John | One | 73442
dup Here is the gist of the passage: Jesus is about to die and in dying God’s eternal plan will be complete. This will enable God’s people to be redeemed from sin and death. Jesus in this way likes His body to a see and when He dies and is buried many people will believe because of Him and His resurrection. This will enable Jesus to “bear fruit.” When He speaks of Loving or hating life He speaks of this life. Too many people today don’t follow Christ in this life because they want to have fun in this life. Those of us who are Christians in many way can hate this life because of the pain. When I see murder, people living in sin and loving it, it makes me hate this world and want to live with God. When this happens we find our life because we make the decision to live with Christ and like Christ. |

15 | where does the soul rest before Christ | Bible general Archive 1 | One | 73431
Luke 16:22 "Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried. Luke 16:23 "In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and *saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom. Acts 2:27 BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES, NOR ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY. In the Old Testament and New Testament we see there is a place for the dead called Hades or Sheol. As we can see from the passage in Luke there is two sides to this realm of the dead. One is blissful and happy the other torment. At the judgment Hades then will be emptied and death and Hades will be throne into Hell to show Christ triumph over them. Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Rev 20:14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. |

16 | Gambing | Bible general Archive 1 | One | 73403
The Bible really doesn’t say any thing about gambling per say. I think the big thing is that gambling is based on covetousness. Now some people get risk confused with gambling, the two are simply not the same. I hear a lot stock and investments are gambling but I hold there is a big difference. Say I go to the Luck Dog Casino who wants me to win? Not the casino, you have to lose for them to win and vice versa. So you want what they have and they want what is yours and last time I checked that is covetousness. Stock and investments are different. When I invest in a company who wants me to lose my money, not the co, not the employees, no one. Because when I make money everyone wins.
17 | Isn't Baptism neccessary for salvation?? | Rom 10:9 | One | 73365
Thank you for explaining to me only Greek scholars will go to heaven. Thank you for also in forming me Acts 2:38 and first Peter 3:21 have been destroyed by translation I never new that. In the future I would caution you one point. Matt 7:1 "Do not judge so that you will not be judged. "For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Therefore I would be very careful of your condemnation over doctrinal matters unless you feel you have attained doctrinal perfection. |

18 | Isn't Baptism neccessary for salvation?? | Rom 10:9 | One | 73220
So just how is someone saved in the church you’re at? The ironic thing I find people who don't say Baptism is essential have require the recitation of a man made pray to be the work they do prior to salvation. A prayer, I might add that is found no where is scripture.
19 | Isn't Baptism neccessary for salvation?? | Rom 10:9 | One | 73218
People quote John 3:16 so much do you understand the context of John 3:16? Nicodemus was told we must be born again of water and the spirit but Nic didn't get it so Jesus had to try to make it simpler for him. To me if we believe we will be baptised. Here lies my bone about baptism too, many people teach people to be save you must quote a prayer thats not in the Bible nor do we have and example of any where. Yet when it comes to baptism, wich is in the bible they leave it out all together when teaching of Jesus. Yes they do baptize them a year or a month later and I chanlange any one to show me a passage there anyone waited for any length of time to be baptised.
