2 | when were the angels created? | Gen 1:1 | Bauhinia | 189890
Job 38:4-7 will answer your question: "Where were you [Job] when I [God] laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding, Who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it? On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy?" (NASB) Yes, all of God's sons, the angels, were applauding when God created the earth. These are not dead humans since there were no humans yet! Adam and Eve were yet to be created. |

3 | Why is BLOOD involved in SALVATION? | Heb 9:22 | Bauhinia | 189710
Leviticus 17:11 explains: "The life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement."
4 | When does Moses put men in charge? | Exodus | Bauhinia | 189709
Jethro was the "priest of Midian" descended from Abraham, who'd lived with Moses some 40 years. (Exodus 2:16; 3:1; 18:12; Deuteronomy 1:9-15) Hence, his advice was in harmony with God's will and so would be from God. (Compare 2 Chronicles 35:20-22.)

6 | Am I still Married "in God's eyes"? | NT general Archive 1 | Bauhinia | 189661
Please see Matthew 19:9. It says: "I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for [sexual] immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery." Mark 10:12 says: "If she herself divorces her husband and marries another man [except for sexual immorality], she is committing adultery." So, you are not free to date or marry another man until you have this ground! So, you can try to follow the advice of 1 Corinthians 7:10, 11: "To the married I give instructions, not I, but the Lord, that the wife should not leave her husband (but if she does leave, she must remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband should not divorce [leave, separate from] his wife." So, at the moment, your husband is not an example to the congregation. |

8 | What does "the perfect" mean? | 1 Cor 13:10 | Bauhinia | 189657
OldPilgrim: In my original post, I cited Daniel 12:4. It reads: "But you, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the Book until the time of the end. [Then] many shall run to and fro and search anxiously [through the Book], and knowledge [of God's purposes as revealed by His prophets] shall be increased and become great [Amos 8:12.]." (1 Peter 1:10, 11) So, perfect knowledge of God's purposes will come in "the time of the end." (Matthew 13:39, 40; 24:3) 1 Corinthians 13:12 says: "Now we see in a mirror dimly," that is, a hazy understanding of God's purpose. "But then," that is, when "the perfect comes," perfect knowledge of God's purpsoe in the time of the end, we'll know "face to face," that is, intimately. (Deuteronomy 5:4; 34:10) "Now I know in part, but then [in the time of the end] I will know fully." Paul will "know fully" because he'll be alive in heaven then, just as those on earth will know fully at that time, too. (Ephesians 3:10, 11) |

9 | How many Jesus do we have in the Bible? | NT general Archive 1 | Bauhinia | 189589

10 | Isaiah 52:14 has "my people" - why? | Bible general Archive 3 | Bauhinia | 189579
Most Bibles translate Cain using the term "my punishment" in Genesis 4:13. And 1 John 3:12, 15 indicate Cain was "of the evil one and slew his brother," and "everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him." So, he was certainly punished by God and destroyed (perished). (2 Peter 3:9) The unbelieving Jews were punished also. When saying "remain unpunished," I meant they would be called to account for their rejection, although God's people. Regarding the expression "God's people," Isaiah goes on to say: "We did not esteem Him. Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray." (Isaiah 53:3-6) So, Jesus was sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, but, of course, those in John 8:44 followed the course of the Devil, because they initially believed, but then rejected the Messiah. Yet, in Acts 2:36-38, 41, Peter invites "all the house of Israel," whom he said "crucified" Jesus, to "repent" and "those who had received his word were baptized." So, it depends what we understand "God's people" to encompass. Jews who knowingly reject Jesus and the truth prove to be not; those who repent at the invitation are. I understood it as refering to the "house" of Israel as a nation by citing Matthew 23:38, not as individuals as in John 8. (See Romans 9:6-8; 11:1-5, 14.) |

11 | Isaiah 52:14 has "my people" - why? | Bible general Archive 3 | Bauhinia | 189574
The expression "My people," evidently unbelieving Jews, is in italics indicating its supplied by the translator. The Amplified reads: "Behold, My Servant shall deal wisely and shall prosper; He shall be exalted and extolled and shall stand very high. [For many the Servant of God became an object of horror; many were astonished at Him.] His face and His whole appearance were marred more than any man's, and His form beyond that of the sons of men--but just as many were astonished at Him, so shall He startle and sprinkle many nations." The Bible tells us that Jesus was "being reviled." This would be by God's people, the Jews. However, they would not remain unpunishable. (Matthew 23:37-24:2; 1 Peter 2:23) |

12 | scripture on being wise financially | Bible general Archive 3 | Bauhinia | 189572
This might help you: 1) "We did not act in an undisciplined manner among you, nor did we eat anyone's bread without paying for it, but with labor and hardship we kept working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; not because we do not have the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you, so that you would follow our example. For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread." (2 Thessalonians 3:6-12) 2) "When good things increase, those who consume them increase." (Ecclesiastes 5:11) |

14 | How did the people of the OT GO 2 HEAVEN | Bible general Archive 3 | Bauhinia | 189433
Jesus said: "No one has ascended into heaven." (John 3:13) Acts 2:34 says: "It was not David who ascended into heaven." Colossians 1:18 says: "[Jesus] is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything." "The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place [heaven] has not yet been disclosed while the outer tabernacle is still standing, which is a symbol for the present time. We have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh." (Hebrews 9:8, 24; 10:19, 20) |

15 | Church sued by members - now what? | 1 Cor 6:7 | Bauhinia | 189055
We could try 1 Corinthians 13:5, AMP, and Ephesians 4:1-3: "Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]." "Walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." It seems somebody in this situation is not following this counsel to 'not insist on his own rights' and 'be diligent to preserve unity.' Then again, Jesus did say: "Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with what is my own?" (Matthew 20:15) Maybe its "lawful" for church b to 'do what they wish with what is their own'! However, it could be evidence that these individuals are not spirit-guided, being "self-controlled, holding fast the faithful word"!--Titus 1:5-9; Genesis 13:8. |

16 | Church sued by members - now what? | 1 Cor 6:7 | Bauhinia | 189053
In Matthew 18:15, we're told to "go and show him his fault in private." It could be, however, that your brother is not at fault! It could be that qualified persons may be needed to provide convincing evidence of who is in the right--"one or two more" so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses "every fact may be confirmed." Of course, you may be required to attend court if they have summoned you.--Titus 3:1. |

17 | Church sued by members - now what? | 1 Cor 6:7 | Bauhinia | 189052
Like I began the answer, if you consider it carefully, it should answer your question! "Actually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?" "Lawsuits with one another" suggests one is suing and another is being sued, doesn't it? Then we read: "Why not rather be wronged?"--See Matthew 18:15-17. |

18 | Church sued by members - now what? | 1 Cor 6:7 | Bauhinia | 189050
By considering 1 Corinthians 6:1-9 carefully, you should be able to come to a conclusion. However, reading and understanding God's Word and living by it are two different things! We read: "Does any one of you, when he has a case against his neighbor, dare to go to law before the unrighteous and not before the saints? Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts? Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life? "So if you have law courts dealing with matters of this life, do you appoint them as judges who are of no account in the church? I say this to your shame. "Is it so, that there is not among you one wise man who will be able to decide between his brethren, but brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers? Actually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded? "On the contrary, you yourselves wrong and defraud. You do this even to your brethren. Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?" |

19 | Should I leave my church? | Luke 18:8 | Bauhinia | 189049
Revelation 18:2-5 mentions a "voice from heaven" which gives you direction. "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird. For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality." What does this "voice" tell 'God's people' to do? "Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues; for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities." See also Isaiah 52:11; 2 Corinthians 6:14-17. |

20 | Saved or not ? | Jer 17:9 | Bauhinia | 189037
We're told, "Look well to yourself [to your own personality] and to [your] teaching; persevere in these things [hold to them], for by so doing you will save both yourself and those who hear you." (1 Timothy 4:16, AMP) By 'paying close attention to himself and his teaching,' a person can 'save himself.' |
