21 | H Priest 12 stones-what significance tod | Revelation | Bauhinia | 189014
Revelation 21:12, 19, 20 shows that they represent the reality of the "great and high wall [of New Jerusalem], with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel" which had "foundation stones" which "were adorned with every kind of precious stone," twelve in all. Hence, they illustrate the priestly feature of New Jerusalem, "the bride, the wife of the Lamb."--See 2 Corinthians 11:2; Revelation 1:5, 6; 5:9, 10; 20:6; 21:9. |

22 | where is heaven is it on earth | Rev 12:8 | Bauhinia | 188992
Revelation 12:8, 9, 12 reads: "There was no longer a place found for them in heaven." Who? "The devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him." Thus heaven is not on earth, but above in relation to earth, a realm invisible to human eyes. "For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time." After the devil was cast out of heaven, heaven became once again a place of peace, tranquility and delight, but not so the earth! Happily, we only have to endure it for "a short time"! |

23 | Mediator | Heb 4:16 | Bauhinia | 188987
Hank: You say, "Nowhere does the Bible instruct believers in Christ to pray to anyone other than God." Does this mean we shouldn't pray even to Jesus, also? |

24 | What does "the perfect" mean? | 1 Cor 13:10 | Bauhinia | 188976
I don't know why; its in a different context and its a different subject! Romans 8:17, 18 mention the "suffering" of holy ones and their hope if faithful. The other is the subject of spiritual gifts.--1 Corinthians 12:1. |

25 | What does "the perfect" mean? | 1 Cor 13:10 | Bauhinia | 188943
You need to consider verse 9. It mentions that "our knowledge is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect)." So, the thing that is "perfect" and "partial" is knowledge. Thus the more knowledge a person has, the more he can prophecy, the less knowledge, the less he can speak. 1 Corinthians 12:8 mentions one gift being "a word [or message] of knowledge." This is the incomplete or partial knowledge that "will be done away" in verse 8 and replaced with "perfect [knowledge]." Since Paul wrote, we now have the complete Bible, a complete message.--Compare Daniel 12:4. |

26 | Tell satan's job when he was in heave | Revelation | Bauhinia | 188897
CDBJ: They are the same group: angels, "sons of God." They were faithful angels who witnessed the creation of the earth in Job 38:4-7 and subsequently became disobedient in the days of Noah. Revelation 12:8, 9 mentions Satan and "his angels" being cast down to earth out of heaven, "no longer [was] a place found for them in heaven." What convinces you? |

27 | Tell satan's job when he was in heave | Revelation | Bauhinia | 188895
CDBJ: You say, "It was explained to me that Satan and all the fallen angels have already been judged but that Satan is going through the appeals process before his execution is carried out." How does this explain Satan being "cast out" of heaven in the garden of Eden? Further, we read of "spirits"--angels--that disobeyed "in the days of Noah" being "held for judgment" and "bound with everlasting chains," making any appeal futile. (1 Peter 3:18, 19; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 6) Its clear they still had access to heaven at the end of the 1st century AD at the very earliest, isn't it? And Revelation points forward!--Revelation 1:1, 19. |

28 | Tell satan's job when he was in heave | Revelation | Bauhinia | 188883
If Satan fell from heaven before Eve's temptation, How do you account for Revelation 12:7-9: "There was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him"?
29 | Tell satan's job when he was in heave | Revelation | Bauhinia | 188851
When do you believe he was cast out of heaven? (See Job 1:6-12; Proverbs 27:11; Revelation 12:7-12.)
30 | DISCIPLES TURN PEOPLE AWAY | Bible general Archive 3 | Bauhinia | 188843
Consider the full account: " Jesus went away from there, and withdrew into the district of Tyre and Sidon. And a Canaanite woman from that region came out and began to cry out, saying, 'Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed.' But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, 'Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us.' But He answered and said, 'I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.' But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, 'Lord, help me!' And He answered and said, 'It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.' But she said, 'Yes, Lord; but even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.' Then Jesus said to her, 'O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish.' And her daughter was healed at once." She wasn't an Israelite, but her daughter was healed! Thus she wasn't turned away. Incidently, the Christian congregation had not yet been formed until Pentecost. So, God was still dealing exclusively with the "house of Israel" at that time. (Matthew 23:37-24:2) Later they could join the congregation after Cornelius.--Acts chapter 10. |

31 | There are a few righteous in the Bible | Rom 3:10 | Bauhinia | 188765
Abel, Noah, Abraham were specifically called "righteous." (Matthew 23:35; Hebrews 11:7) What may help you is James 2:23, where it says of Abraham and other righteous pre-Christians: "'ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS,' and he was called the friend of God." Hence pre-Christian worshippers are considered righteous as 'friends of God.' |

32 | Which saints will be left behind? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Bauhinia | 188730
No saints will be "left behind." The saints "who are alive" at the coming of the Lord will be "always with the Lord" when they're resurrected to heaven after they die. (1 Corinthians 15:36; 1 Thessalonians 4:15, 16)
33 | Why does God allow mass murder? | OT general | Bauhinia | 188727
"Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16) So, these accounts can show what's sinful, and discipline and correct us in righteousness. Genesis 34:1 shows that Dinah had the bad habit of associating with ungodly persons in the land of Canaan. She's raped, revealing their moral condition. Her brothers seek revenge and kill all the males by deceit. (34:25) Verses 30, 31 and 49:5-7 reveal Jacob's reaction. Incidently, God's view of the Amorites is revealed in Genesis 15:16. Onan is a single individual judged by God himself. Why? Genesis 38:8 tells us about Judah's command, as his father, to perform "brother-in-law marriage" to preserve the family line. Verses 9, 10 explain Onan's reaction to this command. (Compare Deuteronomy 25:9, 10.) He was concerned about the inheritance. So, for his diobedience, his covetousness and disrepect of the divine arrangement, he was judged worthy of death thus ending his family line, as he chose to do for Judah. |

34 | Life on other planets? | OT general | Bauhinia | 188722
No. Only in the spiritual heavens which transcend the physical universe. See Job 38:4-7; Proverbs 8:22, 27.
35 | what Ester significance in the Bible? | 1 Peter | Bauhinia | 188720
Esther's significance in the Bible is mentioned in 1 Peter 3:3-5: "Your adornment must not be merely external--braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands." Hence, she's an example for Christian wives regarding subjection, for instance. |
