What do you mean by judgment day, chapter and verse please! Back up what you are trying to tell us by using God's Word or it doesn't mean anything to us. 2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Can you prove what you are saying with the Bible? It must be thus saith the Lord or it means nothing! Use Scripture Please!! |

I think you better reread my last post, there wasn't one thing in it that judged you. I merely ask if you thought your advise was better then God's Word and spending time in reading it. If your conscience is bothering you don't blame that on me. 1 Cor. 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. Far be it from me to judge you, I don't have to judge you, God's Word will do that if you are a true believer. Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. Now if one isn't a true believer that is another story. John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: I am not saying which camp you are in, but there is a parable that covers both. Matthew 13:24-30 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. I don't know who or what you are following, all I know is what God's word says. John 10:1-5 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. This doesn't sound like Jesus Christ Superstar to me. |

1463 | Can satan read our mind. | Job 34:21 | CDBJ | 40234
I am afraid that I would just be flattering myself to think that Satan would have anything to do with such a low figure as I am in the realm of Christianity. I have enough trouble with my own stupid old sin nature. James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. I think that Satan only goes after the big fish not a little guppy like me, I am my own worst enemy! Romans 7:15-25 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. |

1464 | CAN THE HOLY SPRIT BE CONTROLLED? | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 40204
John the Baptist made a statement to a crowd of people that contained both believers and unbelievers with reference to something that Jesus was going to do to all of them. Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Those in the crowd were all going to be baptized by Jesus. But they wouldn't all receive the same baptism; some would be baptized with the Holy Ghost and the rest would be baptized with fire. The interesting point, that wasn't mentioned at the time, was that the baptism received was going to be a result of the individuals own decision, i.e. just who is the man called Jesus. Ephes. 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Now for the unbelievers there is another verse. Rev. 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. |

1465 | Bible and evolution both? | Gen 1:1 | CDBJ | 40202
I believe in the process of evolution when it comes to something that man makes. A good example would be the way machinery has evolved it is a very slow process. We have the designs of some of the first laths that were ever made and today we use highly sophisticated computer controlled laths. Between the first laths and the new models of today there are literally hundreds of thousands of everything in between. When it comes to the human race, evolutionist, by their own definition make it an impossibility, when there are no facts to present. They are always talking about the missing link as though there would only be one! If there was even a hint of evolution there wouldn't be (a) missing link, there would be millions and they can't even turn up one. Another example, that is about as preposterous, is going right from an hourglass full of sand to the atomic clocks that are used today to keeps the world time in check; and what was the (one) object between the two? There are millions and they are still around in collections. Does this make sense? Evolutionist, are evolutionist because they don't want to face the obvious and have to answer to a Holy God; but I have some bad news and some good news and it up to them as to which the want.CDBJ |

1466 | What is a Christian? | Luke 9:32 | CDBJ | 40155
What do you mean by the end of time? Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. According to what you are saying even if you think one little thought or do one thing that is contrary to God's Holiness, which is a sin in God's eyes, even though you might not have known it was a sin, you are out, right; or do you make exceptions for your self? By the way, where does it say that sins will even be mentioned at the judgment day? Please enlighten, CDBJ |

1467 | RELIGION HOMEWORK HELP | Rom 12:2 | CDBJ | 40126
The benefit that one can derive from what you suggest, as compared to reading and studying the New Testament is like looking for something good to eat in a garbage can. I am sure that if one looks long enough and hard enough that they could find something good to eat even in garbage can, but you have to go through all the slop to find it and then it will probably be contaminated by what's next to it. I wouldn't suggest eating it for any real nourishment and you could be poisoned to the point that you can't intake good food! Why would anyone mess with garbage when God offers a free, wholesome, seven course meal in His Word? Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Do you honestly think that what you are suggesting is a substitute for 2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Or are you adding to it as in 1 Tim. 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; When Paul taught he only used God's Word, even though Greek theatrics were a big thing in his day; he even gave Timothy a strong command. 2 Tim. 4:1-22 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 1469 | 1 day is 1000 years, why? | 2 Pet 3:8 | CDBJ | 39781
Suppose you see 2 Thes. 2:3-4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) It seems to me that these sings are a lot more conclusive. Matthew 24:27-34 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. 29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. I think I'll bank on what the Lord made clear, not something that might be assumed. Thanks anyway, CDBJ |

1470 | Abortion for medical reason ??????? | Ex 20:13 | CDBJ | 39762
There is a verse that you should consider which makes a lot of sense in your situation and that is to follow the sound mind principal. 2 Tim. 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. The Lord has blessed this nation with the best medical profession in the world. I think it would be wise and of sound mind to do as they suggest. I would thank the Lord for their advice and the fact that is so obvious a situation. This is my opinion and I wouldn't even think twice about it if it were my wife! I pry that the Lord will give you the same assurance in this situation. Much love in the Lord, CDBJ |

1471 | 1 day is 1000 years, why? | 2 Pet 3:8 | CDBJ | 39566
The problem is that it could be 20 thousand more years till Christ comes, no one knows! I hope not, but it could be, then your calculation is shot down. We have enough Scripture that is plain to understand about Christ return with out trying to second-guess or change a primary interpretation to try and mean something it doesn't. There have been numbers of people that have tried to calculate when Christ would return and they fund themselves huddled together on the top of some mountain the day after their great prediction half frozen and dumbfounded with white sheets on. So much for their witness for the Lord after a dumb stunt like that; they have just been neutralized by the adversary. Now no one with half a brain would ever listen to their message about salvation in Christ even though that message is true and without flaws. I am not saying this to be critical or that that might be your intent, I am just saying be careful or you might be opening up a can of worms for yourself. In love CDBJ |

1472 | 1 day is 1000 years, why? | 2 Pet 3:8 | CDBJ | 39558
I think that the question would have been a little more thought provoking if the relation between us and the thousand years as one day might be thought to change when we are in the presence of God. i.e. will we feel the same way then as God, and not be concerned with time any longer; and at what point in the future will this happen if it does happen? Rev. 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Time might be one of the former things that are passed away. |

1473 | 1 day is 1000 years, why? | 2 Pet 3:8 | CDBJ | 39512
I can point out that the Bible says that there is no God, but I would be pulling that out of context as well. |

1474 | 1 day is 1000 years, why? | 2 Pet 3:8 | CDBJ | 39505
I believe that the Bible should be interpreted at face value and that we should try to understand what the author is trying to convey. We also must realize that there are figures of speech throughout God's Word and that we aren't to allegorize everything that is said. If you want my honest opinion about what Christ did by taking so long before going to resuscitate Lazarus, I think Jesus made it perfectly clear why he took so long. John 11:15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. John 11:39-40 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. 40Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? John 11:42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. John 11:45 Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him. There wasn't a doubt in anyone's mind that Lazarus was dead he was even to the point of decomposition yet Jesus brought him back! John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. |

1475 | 1 day is 1000 years, why? | 2 Pet 3:8 | CDBJ | 39491
Wasn't that the reason for your comment as to II Peter 3:8 and end times? God knows when he will end it all, but no man knows the day or hour. God does tell us what the signs will be before the end comes, Matthew chapter 24 spells it out pretty clear when Jesus was ask what the signs would be, but it is all in God's perfect TIME.
1476 | 1 day is 1000 years, why? | 2 Pet 3:8 | CDBJ | 39464
Absolutely not, he could have use a million years and it would have meant the same thing. God, as I said before, is not constrained by time like we are.

1478 | Is our dress a reflection of our heart? | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 39121
We have five services on Sunday the last one is for those that want to be casual in dress so no one feels out of place. My wife and I have been going to Sunday school class in the morning then back in the evening because the service right after our class in the morning is packed to the point that there is standing room only. I hope all went well with your son, even though we are believers in the World we are not exempt from the diseases that have come about as a result of sin. My son's bald head was self inflected, he went to basic training between his junior and senior year of high school. He came home from boot camp just before school started with his head shaved and loved it from then on, oh well. He was the only senior in the school that had been through basic training plus he had a black belt in karate so no one said much about the baldhead. |

1479 | John MacArthur an antinomian?!? | Bible general Archive 1 | CDBJ | 38397
Hi Zach, we all make mistakes or we wouldn't be here; please don't quite on the forum I enjoy your post, try to look at it like Paul would. Philip. 3:13-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Stick in there you will be the better for it, forget it and move on. If you quit on us that will be a feather in the enemy's hat, he loves to neutralize us in all that we do. We all make mistakes but please don't let the adversary compound it! I am usually the one on the forum that puts my mouth in motion before my brain is in gear; so don't feel like you are the first one!! There are times when I only open my mouth to change feet. We love you in the Lord, CDBJ |
