23 | Why were they called wise/foolish virgin | Matthew | son of god | 207497
the designation virgin has nothing to do with sex! In scripture an unmarried woman was called a virgin see I Corinthians chapter 7, if christ is the bridegroom which he is then no one is married until he comes. get your mind out of the gutter. The foolish ones were the ones not prepared for the Lords comming.
24 | pure isrealite | Matt 1:1 | son of god | 207205
this post is for brother Jim I believe you said that Jesus ancestry was pure Isrealite. here in Matthew chapter 1, aside from Rahab, we see Ruth the Moabites and Bathsheba the wife of Uriah the Hittite, even though this is the lineage of Joeseph, this is also Jesus connection to the thrown of David. Though it can be argued that Mary too was of the house David, in the big picture what is the significance? are we not all Abrahams seed Acts 17:26 This is probably why Paul tells us in 1st Timothy 1:4 not to give heed to endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than Godly edifying.
25 | pure isrealite | Matt 1:1 | son of god | 207303
Jesus was born in Betleham of Judea as was prophesied in Micah 5:2, but that alone does not confirm that his blood line was pure Isrealite. My mother was born in Dallas,Texas and my grandmother was born in Tyler,Texas, but I was born in New York city and lived there for many years when I became an adult, but I was raised and educated in Texas. Does this make me a New Yorker or a Texan? Yes God chose the Jewish people to reveal himself to man. Thats why Issac was the son of promise and not Ishmeal as some Arabs would have us believe. But Jesus was a composite man. composed of every race known to man. We can make scripture say anything we want to believe. Your reference in 1st Peter2:9,10 is refering to the Church not Isreal, this is just a restatemnt of what he told Isreal in Dueteronomy 10:15. weigh that with Hebrews 7:12. Lets examine Romans 9:24-10:4, now as for sister Bathsheba lets look at Song of Solomon chapter 1

27 | Lean not to thy own understanding | Matt 13:34 | son of god | 208239
the devil knows scripture, you can teach a polly parot to quote scripture. in primary sunday school any little child can rattle off the books of the bible but only the mature spirit filled disciple can interpret the meaning. the passage you gave Matthew 22:34-40 confirms Lev. 19:18 the meaning may not be known to you.that is why he spake in parables. his words are for his disciples and not the multitudes of psuedo intellectuals, that are not in tune with the mind of Christ. More over lets examine Mark 4:11 Jesus said unto them(them being HIS disciples)Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables.
28 | Lean not to thy own understanding | Matt 13:34 | son of god | 208241
WOS; evidently you read the post intended for steve if you click on to read notes you will find this dislouge. Mark 4 has nothing to do with Matthew 22:34-40 but Lev. 19:18 does. I was giving an example of why it is so difficult for some people to understand anything.
29 | Lean not to thy own understanding | Matt 13:34 | son of god | 208260
Yes dear lion lionheart, we are in tune with the mind of Christ when we walk in LOVE as he walked in LOVE. Please see Phillipians chapter 2 verse 5 in particular in connection with verses 1-9
30 | love as opposed to false humility | Luke 16:1 | son of god | 208227
No that is not what I am saying at all. my point is that we are terestrial beings and our purpose is to function in the earth realm. If we focus more on the teachings of Jesus than on phylosophy(wetern civilazation)and ancient philosophers we will be more in line with the heart of the law. If you notice in the parable of the unfaithful steward Jesus never condoned the unsavory behavior of the steward. This parable speaks to relationships. we need to get off of our self righteous high horses, because our righteouness are but filthy rags in the sight of God. Jesus is the word of God and he became flesh and dwelt among us to exhibit how we should walk in love. Now had you studied I Corinthians 13 as I asked you would see that the greatest thing we can aspire to is love. Jesus tried to teach the hypocrites that thought they knew the law, that the essence of the law was found in Lev. 19:18. self righteousness is the same as the sin of pride. Pray for spiritual discernment rather than knowledge of facts and figures. |

32 | ssymbolizalism of linen? | Luke 16:19 | son of god | 207556
In the story of the rich man and Lazuarus found in Luke chapter 16 the rich man wore purple and fine linen. Purple is the color of royalty suggesting that perhaps he was some sort of nobleman and linen represents the height of luxury meaning he was extremely rich. because not only did he ware linen but he wore FINE linen.
33 | Destination of souls before Christ? | Luke 16:19 | son of god | 207564
Sheol in the old testament represents a place of departed spirits. Both paradise and the place of torment were located here separated by a great chasma. I suppose this is what gave birth to the doctrine of purgatory. If you are a Catholic I meant no offense. but since the ascention of Christ this place no longer exist.
34 | Following Jesus | Luke 23:43 | son of god | 206424
you asked what are you supposed to do. YOU my friend can not do anything jesus has already done it all, see proverbs 3:5-7, this is all that you can do is let go and let God. As far as being baptized is concerned consider the thief on the cross in Luke 23:43 all we are required to do is plant seeds just tell your story one plants one waters but God gives the increase. please dont get caught up in self rightousness, because that is the sin of pride.
35 | Following Jesus | Luke 23:43 | son of god | 206470
IN MATTHEW 10:16 AND LUKE 10:3 JESUS SAYS BEHOLD I SEND YOU OUT AS LAMBS AMONG WOLVES,BE WISE AS SERPENTS, AND HARMLESS AS DOVES.STUDY THOSE TWO CHAPTERS AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT EVANGELIZM ENTAILS, YOU WILL BE REJECTED AND PERSECUTED BUT SHAKE THE DUST OFF YOUR FEET AND LEARN TO DEPEND ON THE HOLY SPIRIT TO GUIDE AND LEAD YOU AND ABOVE ALL STAY PRAYED UP. IN HEBREWS 10:25 THE BIBLE SAYS FORSAKE NOT THE ASSYMBLING OF YOURSELVES TOGETHER, THE PURPOSE OF THE CHURCH COMMMING TOGETHER IS TO BUILD EACH OTHER UP(EDIFY)AND STRENGTHEN ONE ANOTHER TO BE MORE EFFECTIVE WITNESSES. THE CHURCH WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE AN ENTITY UNTO ITSELF, BUT TO BE THE BODY OF CHRIST CARRYING OUT CHRIST MISSION IN THE WORLD. AND THAT IS TO SEEK AND TO SAVE THE LOST. AS FAR AS TAKING UP YOUR CROSS DAILY THAT MEANS IF WE ARE GOING TO BE JOINT HEIRS IN HIS RESSURECTION WE MUST BE WILLING TO BE JOINT HEIRS IN HIS CRUCIFITION. ROMAMS 8:17 YOU HAVE TO DIE, DIE TO SELF DIE TO SIN AND DIE TO THE WORLD. WE ARE SAVED BY FAITH THROUGH GRACE, NOT BY WORKS OF RIGHOUSNESS LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST,EPHESIANS 2:8,9 THAT IS THE SELF RIGHTOUS ATTITUDE I WARNED YOU ABOUT LAST TIME. I PERCIEVE THAT YOU ARE FEELING OBLIGATED TO DO SOME GREAT FEAT TO EARN YOUR SALVATION. THIS IS NOT ABOUT YOU BUT IT IS ABOUT JESUS. YOU SAY YOU BELIEVE THEN TRUST HIM AND YIELD TO THE SPIRIT.IF WE WERE CAPABLE OF DOING GODS WILL ON OUR OWN THEN THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO NEED FOR CHRIST TO HAVE BEEN CRUCIFIED. GOD BLESS I HOPE THIS HELPS P. S. FIND YOURSELF A BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH AND GET UNDER A GODLY PASTOR AND FELLOWSHIP WITH OTHER BELIEVERS |

38 | once saved always saved? | John 10:28 | son of god | 207391
this is a very good question according to the savior himself in john 10:25-30 he says no man is able to pluck them out of his hand.and he also says they that believe not are not are not his sheep. This is also verified in Hewbrews 6:4 here it says it is impossible to fall away. on that note I question the doctrine of apostacy.
39 | once saved always saved | John 10:28 | son of god | 207498
If Jesus says no man can snatch them out of his hand then what do you think that means? please read the whole passage starting at John10:25 he said in verse 26 ye believe not because ye are not my sheep so that means you were never saved in the first place. please read Hebrews 5:13-6-12 what it says about immature Christians and crucifying Christ afresh and repentance from dead works. Yes indeed once saved always saved.
