Bible Question:
Hi, I gave my life to Jesus in 2004, I prayed the prayer and believed that we have sinned.... I want to follow Jesus, as for the past week I've been reading His word daily I think almost a week anyways everyday. What are we supposed to do, if we believe and want to follow him? Are we supposed to be baptized? Because I was baptized when I was first born as a baby but Jesus said we need to be born of "water and spirit". So can someone please give me Jesus wants us to do? Because if were followers aren't we supposed to go out and teach his word to all? We can go to church and do this, but as I watch and see stories of the bible of people who were following Jesus, none of them really went to church, they all went and claimed his word to others. It makes me think I'm supposed to go to places around where I live, but is this right? Nobody does it everyone stays in church, or I should say not very many goto public places and teach, it's like everyone goes to church, so does this mean is this where i'm supposed to go? I don't just want to go and listen after I have herd his word, I want to do his will, but I don't know how. I read his word, but I get great knolwedge, but I don't do anything after that. So can someone help me with this? Thank you brothers. Amen |
Bible Answer: you asked what are you supposed to do. YOU my friend can not do anything jesus has already done it all, see proverbs 3:5-7, this is all that you can do is let go and let God. As far as being baptized is concerned consider the thief on the cross in Luke 23:43 all we are required to do is plant seeds just tell your story one plants one waters but God gives the increase. please dont get caught up in self rightousness, because that is the sin of pride. |
