Subject: love as opposed to false humility |
Bible Note: No that is not what I am saying at all. my point is that we are terestrial beings and our purpose is to function in the earth realm. If we focus more on the teachings of Jesus than on phylosophy(wetern civilazation)and ancient philosophers we will be more in line with the heart of the law. If you notice in the parable of the unfaithful steward Jesus never condoned the unsavory behavior of the steward. This parable speaks to relationships. we need to get off of our self righteous high horses, because our righteouness are but filthy rags in the sight of God. Jesus is the word of God and he became flesh and dwelt among us to exhibit how we should walk in love. Now had you studied I Corinthians 13 as I asked you would see that the greatest thing we can aspire to is love. Jesus tried to teach the hypocrites that thought they knew the law, that the essence of the law was found in Lev. 19:18. self righteousness is the same as the sin of pride. Pray for spiritual discernment rather than knowledge of facts and figures. |
