443 | Is C. Dollar teaching the truth? | Gal 1:8 | Pastor Glenn | 72132
C. Dollar seems to teach only the gospel of the dollar. 1 Timothy 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 1 Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 1 Timothy 6:18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; James 1:10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? James 2:6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: Revelation 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. |

444 | Why God only help Israeal people? | Gal 3:8 | Pastor Glenn | 83298
Figoyuen, This is a very good question. I see from your previous posts here that you are a new Christian. I will try to answer your question. May the Lord help me to give you understanding. God's plan to send Jesus the Christ (the Messiah) into the world required a man of faith to become the father of a Kingdom of Priests to lead the world to God: Exodus 19 5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. 6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel." They were also required to birth the Messiah to save the world from their sins. God always had the whole world in mind for salvation. He wanted Israel to be the leaders through His personal agreements (covenant) with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (who was renamed to "Israel"). Genesis 28 12Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. 13And behold, the LORD stood above it and said: "I am the LORD God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. 14Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. 15Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you." Romans 4:9 Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness. Romans 4:12 and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the faith which our father Abraham had while still uncircumcised. Romans 4:13 For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. Romans 4:16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all Galatians 3:7 Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. Galatians 3:8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed."[3:8 Genesis 12:3; 18:18; 22:18; 26:4; 28:14] Galatians 3:9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. Galatians 3:14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. Hebrews 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, As Christians we are hiers to the promises with a better covenant through Jesus Christ: 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; I hope these scriptures help, Pastor Glenn |

445 | Jews rqrd to follow the law in the O.T. | Gal 3:24 | Pastor Glenn | 64763
butch, Gal 3 19 What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. 20Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. 21Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. 22But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. |

446 | same faith same spirit | Eph 4:4 | Pastor Glenn | 137862
Hello jolly, Are you searching for a certain scripture? Maybe: Ephesians 4 One Church, Many Parts 1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you[1] all. 11And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ-- 16from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. |

447 | Compare to Romans 10:9; 1 Cor 12:3? | Phil 2:11 | Pastor Glenn | 146453
Hello Mommapbs, First of all, my heart really goes out to you and your family after the sudden death of your son-in-law. Phi 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Phi 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; Phi 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 1Co 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Lets add another: 1Jo 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. We are ruled by either the Holy Spirit or the spirit of antichrist. But dispite this, people try to remain neutral. This is acknowledging Christ's deity because God is jealous and does not share His glory: Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Isaiah 48:11 For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another. Joh 17:1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: Joh 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Joh 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. Your brother in Christ, Pastor Glenn |

448 | rasied dead died twice? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Pastor Glenn | 106235
1Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. There are exceptions by God's will. But remember, we were not originally meant to die at all. Also the lake of fire is the second death for unbelievers. |

450 | rasied dead died twice? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Pastor Glenn | 106343
You asked: "are you saying that lazarus is still alive physically until the Lord comes. can you show me the scriptures regarding that." No. I am not saying that Lazarus is still alive physically. What I am saying is for Lazarus to die twice is an exception to the scripture that says it is appointed unto man once to die. God makes exceptions to any rule that He wants. So some die twice as did Lazarus, while others may never die, as in Enoch: Heb 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. |

451 | Verse for encouragement in death | 1 Thess 4:18 | Pastor Glenn | 64262
kristi4252725, 1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 452 | The Lord told me to tell you..." ? | 1 Thess 5:20 | Pastor Glenn | 140431
I just noticed that there are no notes on this verse: 1 Thessalonians 5 20 do not despise prophetic utterances. (NASB) 20 prophesyings despise not; (YLT) I have heard some say that it is bad to offer a "word of knowledge" or "prophetic word" to others concerning their life. As an example, someone may come to you and say "The Lord told me to tell you..." so and so. Is this wrong for them to do? If we refuse to listen, are we disobeying this scripture? Any Comments? 453 | The Lord told me to tell you..." ? | 1 Thess 5:20 | Pastor Glenn | 140567
Hello Doc, Thanks for your excellent reponse, as well as, excellent responses from EdB, Kalos, and Searcher. You guys and others are great on this forum. Here is a quote from your reference website: "The Validation Of Prophecies I Thessalonians 5:19-20 commands the Christian to prove, or test, all prophecies. How? The apostles were able by their miraculous gifts to vindicate their own message, but no such provision was given the prophets." Also the summary: "Summary Prophecy was an important gift to the church and met a unique need in the early church, but it is no longer needed or given. Its "partial" messages (I Corinthians 13:9) have been replaced by the complete Revelation. The church today stands, then, at a great advantage without it." Please explain the differences between this and the comments of others. I fail to see much differences in the details. Honestly, my comprehension is laking here. Pastor Glenn |

454 | The Lord told me to tell you..." ? | 1 Thess 5:20 | Pastor Glenn | 140602
Hello Doc, "Cessationism ... ... In orthodox Protestanism it is simply about sola scriptura. This is the advantage that Zaspel mentions (i.e., The scriptures, "the only sufficient, certain, and infallible rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience"). Well, cessation is in house debatable. I see the scriptures focus on "fruit" (Gal 5:22-23) of the Spirit rather than "gifts" of the Spirit. After we rank all gifts, as well as, rank all fruit, we get prophecy as the greatest gift and love as the greatest fruit. Love then, ranks above prophecy (1 Cor 13:2,13). There is no debating this: Gal 5 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 1 Cor 13 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 13And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. Some churches look for gifts to show spiritual growth. But, isn't the Church full of "fruit" much better than the church full of "gifts"? Any comments? Pastor Glenn |

So Doc, you are saying if one item is missing (joy or peace for instance), then we do not really have the fruit of the spirit? Interesting way to look at it. Your brother in Christ, Pastor Glenn |

456 | Living together | 1 Thess 5:22 | Pastor Glenn | 140429
1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. Hello Chris42, No, but it is probably just a matter of time. Why tempt yourselves? The scriptures say "flee youthful lusts"" 2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. At 77 you would probably say "what youthful lusts"? Why not just get married? James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Please consider all of these scriptures. Go and talk to your pastor also. Merry Christmas, Pastor Glenn |

457 | difference between your soul and spirit | 1 Thess 5:23 | Pastor Glenn | 75103
Charlie1, I think that they are not the same: 1 Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Job 7:11 "Therefore I will not restrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul. Isaiah 26:9 With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. |

458 | Be content | 1 Tim 6:9 | Pastor Glenn | 137830
Hello Nakia, Here is another scripture for you to consider: 1 Tim 6 6Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain[3] we can carry nothing out. 8And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. The Good Confession 11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. 12Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, 15which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen. Instructions to the Rich 17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. Hope this helps, Pastor Glenn |

459 | Response to Content | 1 Tim 6:9 | Pastor Glenn | 137843
Hello again Nakia! As jdbound said, you are absolutly right. However, It seems that you are confused about the difference between contentment and laziness. You can be a hard worker and still find yourself on welfare for a period of time. But, a diligent person will always seek to do better. While he is down though, he will trust that God will bring him out: Phil 4 11Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13I can do all things through Christ[2] who strengthens me. Proverbs 13:4 The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich. Does this answer your confusion? Pastor Glenn |
