Dear Bother John, I will praise the name of the Lord Jesus Christ forever! I will lift up my hands and my voice to my Savior! I will love the Lord my God with all my heart, mind, soul, and strengh! Praise the Lord Jesus! I went to the the web sight that you reffered me to. As I'm sure you know of me already brother John, I have not really read any theology before, so, it was, and is, a new experience for me. In fact I'm sure that you've seen me write before that I am described in this verse:(1 Cor 1:26 For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble;), and I like this verse too:(1 Cor 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise.) With all of that being said, I still have no other thoughts on the question; you had asked me in a prior post on this thread if I had any. I do, however, have a some thoughts/comments on the doctrine you are introducing me too. Please forgive me here if I have strayed away from the original question. My thoughts/comments are these, keep in mind, I am in no way speaking out against or being judgemental of this doctrine; I do not know enough about it. To me the doctrine is bitter/sweet. Bitter because when I think of my Grandchildren and the loving times we have together in singing songs to the Lord and sharing stories from God's Word, and, the time I spend in continual prayer for them, and others as well, sometimes weeping for them. As I understand this doctrine, that all of this may be just a waste of emotion and time really hurts. Sweet because I know without a doubt that the chosen ones of God will enter His kingdom to be with Him forever. Your brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear Brother John, I will make a joyful noise to the Lord my God! In my heart I am leaping and dancing with joy the day long becasue I know that my God and Savior is with me, and guides my every step! No matter where I am or what I am doing I know that I can talk with my Savior! Blessed be the Lord forever! John, you will remember that you and I exchanged postings on Romans chapter 9. In fact, one of my replies was this: (I've reached a new level of convidence and boldness in the Holy Spirit that I had not known before through this discussion. Not confidence in myself, God forbid! for there is no confidence in the flesh, but the confidence that God is in control and has predestinated everything! There is apsolutely nothing that He does not know or see or hear, and, that He has not preordained. Lord please forgive me of any former doubts, I do repent!) Since our discussion in March, which helped my to grow, I do pray a differently. I do not plead with God for these babies to be saved because I've been conducting searches in the forum on the subject of "infant salvation" and "salvation of children". I am convinced through the scriptures posted that these babies and children that God has put under my care, they are His, are saved if they should perish for some reason before the age of accountability. Yes, my prayers are different. They are more focused on asking God to create in me a pure heart after His nature and spirit that I may give spiritual guidance to those He has put in my life to care for. Incidently, I have in me a burden for all babies and children. I pray for them and weep sometimes because of their sufferings and abuse. I love children so much. In regards to this doctrine, what about: Heb 2:9 But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. In this case, according to the doctrine, Does EVERYONE mean everyone as we define it, or, Is there a different meaning from the original writings? I know sometimes that one Hebrew word can have different meanings. Blessings Brother John! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

John, Thanks! You always take time to respond. What do you think? Do you think that the paragraph that is quoted in your post is revelation from, or inspired by, God our Father? I'm sorry but I haven't done much reading other than the Word so I do not know the author nor the author's backround, that's why I am asking. Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear Brother John, Praise be to God our Father, who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that there is therein, all things seen and unseen, created not by hands, but by God! Yes, praise be to our heavenly Father! As I told you my brother, I have been following this thread the best that I can. I must say that it is getting long! Some scripture came to mind as I consider the subject and the discussion. Keep in mind that I am not as mature in the faith and in the knowledge of the Word as others on this forum, whom I consider to be my elders in Christ, you included, so, I found it necessary to go directly to God's Word. Now taking into consideration that I consider these to be elders, I found myself tempted to side with this one or that one. Here are the scriptures that have helped me: 1 Cor 1:9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Cor 1:10 Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Cor 1:11 For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by Chloe's people, that there are quarrels among you. 1 Cor 1:12 Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ."1 Cor 1:13 Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? 1 Cor 4:20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power. John 15:10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. John 15:11 "These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. John 15:12 "This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:14 "You are My friends if you do what I command you. I love each one in Christ that are regulars, my elders, on this forum and have really grown by reading postings by all of you. Thank you! Your brother in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His prasie shall continually be in my mouth! |

Dear brother John, It was a cool crisp morning in east central IL this morning. It took about 5 miles before my body warmed up when riding my bicycle. The sun rise was beautiful! How beautiful are the creations of God! Praise God for the beautiful things He has created! Praise Him for giving His only begotten Son for us, who did not deserve it, but, He loved us! Dear Brother, I'm still following this thread somewhat, I haven't been able to keep up with all of the postings, and, my computer "groans" when I click on one of them. I know that this is a forum, of the which I am very thankful for, but, man, there is a little tension in some of the postings. I enjoy being involved with, and seeing some healthy discussion, and even disagreement, but, it hurts to see the children of God "bear teeth". I'm trying to follow this thread because of you, because of our discussion back in March on Romans 9. I really had a "growth spurt" then. We know from the Word that GOD is LOVE! Here is some more scripture. I'm not posting as one in authority be any means. You know that I am one of the least in knowledge as a forum member. I'm simply posting this because you are in my prayers, and, you really helped me to grow. 1 Cor 13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 1 Cor 13:3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. 1 Cor 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 1 Cor 13:5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 1 Cor 13:6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 1 Cor 13:7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Cor 13:8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. God bless you brother! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Hank, Praise be to the Lord our God for the wisdom He gives us! There is very much wisdom in your post! You must seek God for wisdom, we know that He gives wisdom to those that ask Him for it. 1 Cor 4:20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power. Meredith, I will praise the Lord my God from the mountain tops! I will praise the Lord my God in the valleys! I will praise the Lord my God each and everyday, for He alone is worthy! Haven't had the pleasure of exchanging with you yet. I have read and enjoyed some of your posts to the forum. I am convinced that the Lord our God has blessed you with His wonderful spirit! To me John 15:1 thru 14 seems to be a very good place to begin the building proccess. Also read on to 1 Cor 13, aka the love chapter. I memorized this chapter when I was younger and am very glad that I did. Many times when I am confronted with situations the list of what love is, as Paul describes love in this chapter, has helped me. When you build on that foundation of the love of God, who is Love, see 1 John 4:7 and 8, much love from the Father is returned to you. Also Phil 4:8 and Gal 5:19 thru 23 are helpful for building. There are many other scriptures as well. Clear as mud? I hope this helps Your brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

Mommapbs, I will sing praise to the Lord my God in my heart the day long! I will sing of his mercy his and love and his grace! I will sing to him with a joyful heart! I will sing praises to the Lord! Yes, I want to chime in. In Radioman's post he reffers to 1 Cor 6:19. In my way of thinking (That's scary, isn't it?), that scripture answers the question on suisude. It tells me that I am not my own, so, God is the one who appoints the time that I should leave this body and be clothed with the other one that he has prepared for me. This verse from Hebrews came to mind also: Heb 9:27 And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, As far as destroying the temple of the Holy Spirit is concerned, I would agree with you. Here are a few verses from 1 Cor 12. In this chapter Paul is speaking of spiritual gifts. 1 Cor 12:11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. 1 Cor 12:12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. 1 Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. 1 Cor 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many. 1 Cor 12:15 If the foot says, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. Blessing to you T! Always your brother in prayer and praise, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

T, We are doing fine. Thank you for asking. Is all well with you? After reading your post, which was very good, these scriptures came to mind. I was quilty of the same thing you speak of in time past, holding those less informed to a standard that I, not the Lord, set. I was corrected by these scriptures, especially Gal 6:3; that one HURT! Rom 14:1 Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions Rom 15:1 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Gal 6:1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Gal 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. Gal 6:3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Gal 6:4 But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another. Always your brother in Chist our Lord, David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

angelface, Blessed be the Lord our God who is worthy of all praise and glory and honr! Blessed be the Lord our God who is loving and kind and merciful! Blessed be the Lord our God who is the wonderful counseler and prince of peace! Do a "quick search". There are some good postings on this subject. In the past, I myself have refered to this verse: "1 Cor 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?" This verse tells me that I belong to Christ Jesus and it is not my decision when my life on earth will be ended but is in His hands. Bless you angelface! If you believe in Jesus Christ you are His! mpa, All praise and glory and honor be to God our Father who created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that there is therein, things not made with hands! And to Jesus Christ God's only begotten Son who thought not of Himself but gave His life for our sins, who's name is named above every name in heaven and earth! Welcome to the forum! This is a wonderful place to study God's word! There are many here on this forum that are regulars that are very knowledgable of the word of God, very loving, and are concerned for the needs of all brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Unfortunately, it is difficult, even for the elders of this forum, to offer or provide counselling. Noting that your are obvioulsy angry and bitter, I'm sure that any advise given to you from us would not be accepted. We can only provide what is written in God's word, our interpretaion of it, sometimes commentary from noted authors, prayer for your situation, and a love for you as a brother in Christ. Please seek a Christian counselor or Pastor to help you. I shall pray for you. In the love of Christ Jesus our Lord, your brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! christian7, I will praise the Lord because He alone is worthy! I will sing praise to my God because He is loving and kind and merciful! I will praise my Lord because He saved me! My question to you is if you leave what will become of this forum? Will people like myself who are growing in Christ miss out on your knowledge of the Word and leading of the Holy Spirit of God? I have not had the pleasure of reading all of your posts but I thought you gave some good answers on the subjects of "owning expensive things" and "marriage to an unbeliver". Were your answers and posts challenged that often? I really don't know. I am speaking only for myself, but, If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, this forum needs you. Blessings to you always, whether you decide to leave or stay. Your brother in Christ, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

prayon, With my hands lifted up and my mouth filled with praise, with a heart of thanksgiving, I will bless the LORD! Praise the LORD! Just a note to say that I think your post is GREAT! The woman that led me to Jesus, my spiritual mother, and, I am a male, was silent in the church, ACCEPT, when it came to teachings in Sunday school class that swayed from the Word of GOD, and, when she was asked to stand in for our pastor to preach. What a wonderful woman God made. I thank Him for her. She would not allow me to be misled by man's wisdom, or, by teachings that swayed from God's Word. She spoke up! 280 | women should keep silent in church | 1 Cor 14:34 | Cyclist | 63257 | ||
Wilme, I will praise the Lord my God for He is Loving and kind and just and merciful! He alone is worthy of praise, for, He gave His only begotten Son for our sins, blessed be the name of the Lord forever! I believe that your question is in reference to these verses: 1 Cor 14:34 The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says. 1 Cor 14:35 If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church. At the top of the page you will see a "search" for questions on notes and verses. Type in "1 Cor 14:34". Just my suggestion but click on the thread where the question is posted by kalos dated 8/23/02 "women keep silent in churchs"? there are some very good postings to help explain this. There are other threads as well. And let me extend a hearty Welcome to the forum! This is a GREAT place to study and learn about God's Word! A few suggestions if I may, Use the "QUICK SEARCH" (upper right of the page) and the "QUESTION/NOTES ON VERSES and QUESTION/NOTES ON WHOLE BOOKS" (top of the page). In addtion, these are Christians that care about us and can, and will, help you understand the Word of God. As you read. please keep in mind that, because we are all human, that emotion seeps through when posting, no one is perfect bur God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Bless you as you study and learn! Again, Welcome! Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
