81 | How do I forgive adultry if it continues | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 202138
Greetings TJS Interesting response but what do you mean by the following, “I have sought to correct my behavior.” Does God actually forgive us on the basis of our trying to correct our behavior and if so where does Christ fit into that picture? Do you think you will be accepted into heaven on the basis of your trying to doing better; how good is good enough? Are your sins more refined then the sins of others? There is only one sin that condemns one to an eternal condemnation. John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 20:30-31 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Where do you stand in relation to the previous verses? Have a nice day, CDBJ |

85 | who is truly saved? How can we be sure | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 206676
That sounds like a legitimate question from a human view point but tell me this; what sin didn’t Jesus die for? The only thing that can condemn a person is failure to have complete trust in Jesus and what He did on the cross for us! John 3:18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." John 1:11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: Keep trusting in the finished work of Christ. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Ephes. 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast. Have a great day, CDBJ |

86 | Purpose of Tree of LIfe in New Jerusalem | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 208212
That is another confusing issue that I have and I don’t have the answer at this point in time but if I ever figure it out, while still on this side of the grass, I will let you know. There isn’t a lot of time left now at my age to resolve all the finer point of doctrine. I’m just about to the stage where I’m afraid to buy green bananas, but by the grace of God I surer like studying His precious word and trying to figure out how points of scripture all fit to form the perfect plan that God has laid out. I’ll be 497 years old on my next birthday, in dog years. Have fun, CDBJ |

87 | How many Gods | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 209733
Greetings and welcome to the forum. What does it mean when the Bible says God is one? (Excerpts from pastor R.B. Thieme Jr.) i.e. the “oneness” of God. From Name the characteristics of God; God is: 1. Sovereignty, -- superior will, i.e. over and above all others. 2. Righteousness, 3. Justice, - God’s Righteousness and Justice make up His Holiness. 4. Love, 5. Eternal Life; “Technically speaking”, no beginning or end as compared to everlasting life that is provided by God for man. 6. Omniscience, Omni - meaning -- “all knowing” 7. Omnipresence, ----------------------- “all present 8. Omnipotence, ----------------------- “all powerful 9. Immutability, -- Constancy or the ability to never change. 10. Veracity, ---- Absolute truth, always trustworthy, without error. This list isn’t complete but it pretty well explains what God is like in essence. In this sense the Bible tells us that God is one. There is no one else in existence, other then God, that has ”all of these special” characteristics! We can say therefore, that “in essence”, God is one; there is no other like God. i.e. God is the only one that exist that has these essence, if anyone could display all of these essence, they would in fact be God, plain pure and maybe not so simple, but true. The Bible points out that there are in fact actually three “distinct” and “separate personalities” in existence, and “each personality” exhibits “all” of these essences or characteristic, as God. The Bible describes them as, “first person” or The Father, “the second person” or The Son, and “third person” or The Holy Spirit. When the Bible speaks of God as being “One” it’s a reference to His essence, but when it expresses “Three” it’s a reference to the distinct and separate personalities that contain all of these exact same essence. I hope you enjoy the forum. CDBJ |

Question, When the following was spoken by Thomas do you suppose that he could have had an insight that you might be lacking? John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Couple that with what these verses. Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. We all know that God will judge everyone at some point in time so just who is it that’s doing the judging? John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: God is a spirit therefore He has no blood yet if Jesus isn’t God how could the next verse be possible? Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he (God) hath purchased with his own blood. Your theology appears to have a few holes in it and I can see why you wouldn’t bother answering this post “if in fact you realize” what I have posted with scripture is true! CDBJ |

90 | Do we have the whole Bible | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 210140
Greetings Confused, I don’t know how much of the Bible you have read but there is a portion of it that is very pertinent with regards to your question. In order to find that out there is a specific question that you can answer that will set things in motion for giving you a clear perspective on the Bible. The Question for you is this: Have you come to the place yet where you can say, with out a shadow of doubt, that you will go to heaven when you pass from this present life? I realize this is an awesome question but do you have that assurance yet? 1 John 5:13 (GW) I've written this to those who believe in the Son of God (( so that they will know that they have eternal life.)) 95 | why so much space on tabernacle details? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 212606
Greetings Dashel, Reading the Bible is a noble thing to do but the strange part is that it’s nearly impossible to understand the Old Testament with out the understanding of the key that is found in the New Testament. The Bible, as a collection of books, can not be understood with what we call human IQ. God the Holy Spirit has to be the one that educates people to the truth contained in Scripture by bringing their human spirit to life for the cognition of spiritual truth contained in Scripture. 1 Cor. 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." The word “see” in the following verse carries the connotation of perception or understanding. My Advice would be to start in the New Testament at the book of Mathew and read at least through to the book of Revelation before attempting to read any of the Old Testament. Have a great day, CDBJ |

96 | why so much space on tabernacle details? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 212685
Greetings, That's the object! With out a living human spirit and the guidance or teaching of the Spirit we can’t understand God truth. The most important issue for one who is truly a born again Christian is that they remain in fellowship so that they can be taught. The exercise of I John 1:9 is the best way to insure the fellowship problem. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
