401 | God always gets what he desires? T or F | 1 Tim 2:3 | CDBJ | 213126
Greetings Norton, We just won’t worry about what others think! When I looked at the verse, this is what I came up with and that’s what stimulated my original question to you. 1 Tim. 2:3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, The word desires isn’t even mentioned in the verse. For some reason we still don’t fine ourselves on the same page? Don’t give up on me yet; I’m sure we can get this all together. Have a great day, CDBJ |

402 | Daniel 11:11-12 two different days | Daniel | CDBJ | 213109
Greetings, This is from the, (Bible Knowledge Commentary) The angel said that 1,290 days will be measured off from the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished (cf. 9:27, “he will put an end to sacrifice”) and the abomination that causes desolation is set up (cf. 9:27, “one who causes desolation will place abominations on a wing of the temple”). The last half of the 70th “seven” of years is “a time, times, and half a time” (7:25; Rev. 12:14), which is three and one-half years. It is also designated as 42 months (Rev. 11:2) or 1,260 days (Rev. 11:3). How then can the variance of 30 days (1,290 compared with 1,260) be explained? Some suggest that the 30 days will extend beyond the end of the Tribulation, allowing for the judgment of Israel and the judgment of the nations. Another possibility is that the 1,290 days will begin 30 days before the middle of the 70th “seven” of years when the world ruler will set up “the abomination that causes desolation” (Matt. 24:15). The 1,290 days could begin with an announcement (about the abomination) made 30 days before the abomination is introduced. This abomination, as stated earlier, will be an image of himself (Rev. 13:14-15) and will be the symbol of this religious system. 12:12-13. Blessing is pronounced on one who waits for and lives to see the end of the 1,335 days. This is an additional 45 days beyond the 1,290 days (v. 11). Forty-five days after the end of the Tribulation Israel’s long-awaited blessings will be realized. This may mark the blessing of the Millennium; or it may be when Christ, who will have appeared in the heavens (Matt. 24:30) 45 days earlier, will actually descend to the earth, His feet touching down on the Mount of Olives (cf. Acts 1:11). For believers Christ’s coming is a blessing and a glorious hope. Daniel did not live to see many of his prophecies fulfilled. He, the angel said, would rest, that is, in death (cf. v. 2). But he will be resurrected (you will rise at the end of the days), and he will receive his allotted inheritance in the Millennium. Because of Daniel’s faith in God he led a life of faithful service for Him, and for that faith and that obedience he will receive a glorious reward. All who like Daniel trust the Lord will share in the blessings of His millennial kingdom. CDBJ |

404 | Why did they oppose Jesus and how? | NT general | CDBJ | 213055
Greetings and welcome to the forum. The basic problem was then, and still is today, is the fact of who Jesus Christ was and what He did. The answer to that question is the difference between an individual spending eternal life with God or suffering eternal punishment in the lake of fire forever. John 20:30-31 Many other signs therefore Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. 1 John 5:10-13 The one who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the witness that God has borne concerning His Son. 11And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life. John 3:17 "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. I sure hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

405 | why so much space on tabernacle details? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 212685
Greetings, That's the object! With out a living human spirit and the guidance or teaching of the Spirit we can’t understand God truth. The most important issue for one who is truly a born again Christian is that they remain in fellowship so that they can be taught. The exercise of I John 1:9 is the best way to insure the fellowship problem. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 406 | why so much space on tabernacle details? | Bible general Archive 4 | CDBJ | 212606
Greetings Dashel, Reading the Bible is a noble thing to do but the strange part is that it’s nearly impossible to understand the Old Testament with out the understanding of the key that is found in the New Testament. The Bible, as a collection of books, can not be understood with what we call human IQ. God the Holy Spirit has to be the one that educates people to the truth contained in Scripture by bringing their human spirit to life for the cognition of spiritual truth contained in Scripture. 1 Cor. 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." The word “see” in the following verse carries the connotation of perception or understanding. My Advice would be to start in the New Testament at the book of Mathew and read at least through to the book of Revelation before attempting to read any of the Old Testament. Have a great day, CDBJ |

407 | Iam having some questions | John 17:1 | CDBJ | 212438
Greetings, I have read your comments on the modus operandi of those that have trusted in Christ for their salvation, But am I comprehending you correctly, i.e. that it is "your understanding" of scripture that while we are yet still in the flesh, that we who are saved, can not commit sin? 1 John 2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; The following verse carries the connotation of desirability along with plausibility and the solution; should the third class condition of the “if clause” tend to raise its ugly head. 408 | Hebrews10:26-31 | Matt 11:28 | CDBJ | 212346
Greetings, You are to the point where you know you need help and that is where Jesus comes in. The apostle Paul was the worst sinner of all and look what Jesus did for him. 1 Tim. 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Christ has a plan for your life but you must totally trust Him for it to be effective. God wants to have a personal relationship with you through the person of His Son if you are willing to put you life in His Hands. Mark 2:17 And hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners." . God has a gift for you and it resides within the person of His Son. John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17"For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. 18"He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Greetings and welcome to the forum. John 10:24-28 The Jews therefore gathered around Him, and were saying to Him, "How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly." 25Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father's name, these bear witness of Me. 26"But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep. 27"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. 412 | Am I ignorant | 1 Cor 12:1 | CDBJ | 212052
Greetings, “Assuming” that your assumption is true with regard to the continuation of just even the first part of Eph 4:11, i.e. the apostles; what is the prerequisite to be an apostle and could there be a person alive to fulfill it? Acts 1:20-22 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take. 21Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. Verse 22 puts a halt to the possibility. “a witness with us of his resurrection” Even if there were apostles, they couldn’t improve on God’s "completed Cannon of Scripture" or don’t you believe that God’s perfect written Word is totally sufficient coupled with the working of God the Holy Spirit? 413 | How to follow, walk in the Spirit? | Gal 5:16 | CDBJ | 211469
The Koine Greek word for filled of Ephes. 5:18 is the present tense, passive voice, imperative mood of PLEROO. We are command, as believers to be constantly filled with the Spirit. The passive voice means we receive the action of the verb, i.e. we do something then God does something for us when we confess or sins. Ephes. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; If we confess our known sins God is faithful and just to forgive us! John tells us of fellowship, and darkness, this is being in a state of carnality or under the control of our old sin nature which is a condition of sin in our lives. 1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: As a child of God we “can’t” loose our salvation but we can sure be out of fellowship as a result of sin in our lives. Everything that we do while in a state of carnality, under the control of our old sin natures, falls under the catagory of human good and it will turn out to be wood hay and stubble at the judgment seat of Christ. All that we do while under the control of the Holy Spirit will be gold, silver and precious stones. Often time’s people are dictated to by their emotions more then they are sound Bible doctrine and as a result they fail to hear the truth of God’s Word after responding to the message of the gospel. As a result they log more time in carnality then they do in fellowship or being filled with the Spirit. This type of condition expresses it’s self with wide emotional swings. They go from emotional highs to depressing lows due to a lack of residual doctrine residing in their soul. They end up, even as believers, being an emotional wreck and they wonder why! 416 | How to follow, walk in the Spirit? | Gal 5:16 | CDBJ | 211363
Greetings, At the very moment we are saved we are both indwelt and filled with the Spirit. We as believers in Christ can never loose the indwelling of the Spirit, Hebrews 13:5 (B) I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. But the filling of the Spirit is another subject, we can loose the filling. Ephes. 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; The word filled in the Koine Greek is the word “PLEROO” and it's in the imperative mood which is a command, meaning we must do something. PLEROO carries the conation of filling up a “deficiency”, i.e. The deficiency is in the control of our bodies, the same way that wine takes control when one has had more then they should. What puts God out of control and grieves Him is when we commit sin and put our old sin natures in charge or control. The only way to put The Spirit back in control and be filled is to exercise the option of, 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This filling of the Spirit last only until we sin again and it is best to keep short accounts because, outside of Him we can do NOTHING. John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. This is being filled and controlled by the Spirit. Paul had this battle in Romans Chapter 7:15-25 Have a great day, CDBJ |

417 | Compare Creatures Ezekiel Revelations | Ezekiel | CDBJ | 211266
Greetings and welcome to the forum. Here is the subject from the (Bible Knowledge Commentary) with reference to Ezekiel Ezekiel 1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle. CF Ezekiel 10:14 And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle. (BKC) 1:10. In recording more details of the cherubim (vv. 10-14), Ezekiel first described their faces. The front of each cherub was the face of a man, and on the right side was the face of a lion. The left side was the face of an ox, and the face of an eagle was apparently in the back. Some interpreters feel that these represent intelligence (man), power (lion), service (ox), and swiftness (eagle). However, it seems better to see the faces as representing the highest forms of life in God’s created realm. Man was mentioned first because he was the acme of God’s creative work. He was followed by the lion, “king” among wild beasts; the ox, one of the strongest of domestic animals; and the eagle, the “lord” of the birds. 10:14. Ezekiel then described the faces of the cherubim a second time (see comments on 1:10). However, an apparent discrepancy exists between these two descriptions. In chapter 1 the cherubim had the faces of a man, a lion, an eagle, and an ox; but in chapter 10 they had the faces of a cherub… a man… a lion, and an eagle. Some have suggested that a later scribe mistakenly copied “a cherub” in place of “face of an ox.” A second view is that the face of an ox was, in fact, the normal understanding of the face of a cherub. In Akkadian literature the (cognate of “cherub”) appear to have nonhuman faces I sure hope you enjoy the forum, CDBJ |

418 | How does God judge and who? | Obad 1:16 | CDBJ | 211172
Hello BJ, I don’t know of any sins that we have to be obedient to per your question. “what sins people don't have to worry about being obedient to” We as Christians must be obedient to God’s Word or we will find ourselves out of fellowship which leads to the following action. Ephes. 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 1 Thes. 5:19 Quench not the Spirit. CDBJ |

Hi Pete and welcome to the forum. One of the worst things that I did years ago was to try and understand the Bible by starting in Genesis. One cannot understand God's word apart from being lead by His Spirit and in order to do that one needs a relationship with God's Son Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. The best advice that I could give you would be to start in the New Testament with Matthew and up through John then read John again before reading anything else. Be sure and ask God to reveal the truth to you before you study. Have a great day, CDBJ |

Hi Joycee and welcome to the forum. Here are some more verses that you might want to add to your collection, they also give an approximate time when it will occur. 2 Thes. 1:7-10 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
