Commandment keeper, You seem to think calling (other) Christians pagans is being charitable. I really do wish you would have a merry Christmas whenever you think you should celebrate the birth of our Savior. Surely you believe that the coming of Jesus is a good thing worthy of joy and celebration. It is after all the Good news of the Gospel. The Scriptures are full of passages that speak of the joy at the coming of the Meassiah. Emmaus |

3 | "nun" verse at Psalm 145:13 not in NASB | Bible general Archive 3 | Commandment keeper | 164653 | ||
I appreciate the wish, but don't you understand? I do not believe in that day at all. It is not what I want to hear for obvious reasons. Wish me a nice day or something like that. Do you ever wonder why you do the things you do on that day? First if all , lies to children, breaking a commandment. Than mistletoe, which originated as something lewd. Than mysterious Santa. Don't you see? what has that to do wuth Messiah? Than sleds on the roof, and reindeer, him coming down the chimney. All this fairy tales originated by pagan rituals. Why would you exchange gifts and think it honors Messaih? And the gifts are forced on many . Cutting down trees which Jeremiah tells us not to. Than all those lights. Where in the Bible is any of this condoned? I know that his coming and dying for us sinners was the most wonderful thing that has ever happened on this earth. His is the only name by which we can attain salvation. But if we love him we must do as he says,and do as he did when he walked this earth. not what man says. When Paul saya in Romans, let no man judge you in days, ha was speaking to folowers of Messiah, and was speaking of the Holy days, not Pagan days.He was showing the gentile converts that the other gentliles would mock them for keeping the true Holy days, same as I get laughed at for keeping what are mistakenly called Jewish holidays. THey were not given exclusively to Jews alone. Messiah said."Sabbath was made for man, man was not made for the Sabbath. He said man, not Jews. And he was speaking about the true Sabbath which he kept, and was the lord of. The SEVENTH DAY, not the first day. It was made in the beginning, six days work, and than rest on the seventh. Don't you see how man was not satisfied with that,and tried to change it to the first, which doesn't make sense at all. First rest and than work. All this is in the Bible and more, but most people are brought up with traditions of men , and never question at all. Bless you, and I pray that you will look into your Bible and earnestly study what is in ie. The Bible gives uo true Holy days that are forever. Man does not agree with them, so he copys pagan days, and calls them holy. How can pagan days replace what is Holy? If you don't believe this, go to Zechariah. Read the whole book to get the proper context. Than go to chapter 14, verses 16 to 21. Than maybe you will see what i am talking about. I wish you luck, and do pray that you can have an open mind. I also know it is wise to pray for guidance before studying. Bless you. |

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend. If you take it as unbiblical. I apologise, but I don't see any reason to continue this. You are convinced what you believe. If you care to check out what i mentioned in the bible, fine. If not, that is not my business. In any case I have tried to show you what I believe and why. You seem to be offended, I am sorry for that. many times people react that way when they hear something that hurts . When a person has believed some things all thier lives, it is not easy to open the mind and really investigete. If you are sincere, and really want to see who is right here. Check out what I have said from the Bible. If you still are convinced, go on with how you live. But if you do see new truth, it would be wise to follow what you see. Believe me, that is not always easy. I know because I have been there. I really don't understand why you are saying my wishing you luck is unbiblical. I really think it shows love and concern for my fellow man. It is not at all like someone that knows how I feel about christmas wishing me a happy one in spite of it. That should not be . But wishing someone luck, shows love and concern in my book. Prior to that I said, "Bless you". Was that taken wrong also? |

Commandment keeper, I was not offended by your wishing me luck. I was making a point about misunderstanding things and accusing others of being unbiblical. I know you meant well, but if others split hairs and come to false understandings we could say luck has nothing to do with God's grace and our responsibility, luck is about the pagan concept of fate. I know that is not what you meant, but that is the kind of misunderstas\nding and misinterpretation you are making of others and what they say and do in a Christian context. God bless you! Emmaus |
