arapga I disagree with many of these answers. Jesus does say we should tithe. Matthew 23:23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. In this passage Jesus clearly say you tithe as you OUGHT to have done. I think the message is very clear we are to honor God with what is precious to us. Tithing was a custom before the law as a way to show honor and according to Jesus it is still for today. And yes God is very faithful to His word and does very much bless those that tithe. EdB |

l honestly believe as believer that we should tithe , we are indirectly stealing from God if we do not.... From these tithes you must give the LORD's portion to Aaron the priest. (Whole Chapter: Numbers 18 In context: Numbers 18:27-29),Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. (Whole Chapter: Deuteronomy 14 In context: Deuteronomy 14:21-23) So for us to move the hand of God we have to tithe. |

capemimi: You write: "From these tithes you must give the LORD's portion to Aaron the priest." It is not clear to me how we are to do this, since there is a new priesthood, one that is not according to the order of Aaron. Hebrews 7:11-14 (ESV) Now if perfection had been attainable through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need would there have been for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, rather than one named after the order of Aaron? [12] For when there is a change in the priesthood, there is necessarily a change in the law as well. [13] For the one of whom these things are spoken belonged to another tribe, from which no one has ever served at the altar. [14] For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, and in connection with that tribe Moses said nothing about priests. Grace to you, Radioman2 |
