1 | How is the term "morning star" used? | Bible general Archive 2 | Reighnskye | 133966 | ||
EdB, Here is the common interpretation that I've heard of the morning star, also "Lucifer" in the Hebrew. - Isaiah 14 12 "How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! (NAS95) Isaiah 14 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! (KJV) Apparently the term is not only used for Christ in the bible. Why does this occur? - Blessings, Reighnskye |

Reighnskye I think that answer can be found in the definition of the Morning star. The first brilliant display of light before the actual light of the sun. Satan loves to decieve, he pretends to be a bright light but when the Son arrives we see Satan was just the morning star. EdB |

EdB, I guess I've seen Satan as once truly possessing the bright light of the morning star, hence the former name of "Lucifer". However, the name "Lucifer" (morning star) was lost when he fell, and the name of "Satan" (accuser) was afterward acquired. Are you suggesting that "Satan" (accuser) is still "Lucifer" (morning star)? I thought that title was lost for a lesser one. Granted, he still possesses a psuedo-glory. - Isaiah 14 12 "How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! (NAS95) - Blessings, Reighnskye |

Reighnskye To moral man his glory would still be seen as brilliant. Remember Satan comes as the deceiver not the foul creature he really is. I imagine his physical features would charm us however for those filled with the Holy Spirit the gift of discernment would reveal him as he is. EdB |
