Hank, Thank you brother for responding to my post. I hope that the Lord is blessing you and that the fire of the Holy Spirit burns bright and hot in you soul. In response to your post, Hank, even the author of the thread clearly saw his/her experience as a supernatural one. The Lord (Often the author of dreams and visions) also sees dreams as supernatural. -Job 33 14 But God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it. 15 He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in bed. 16 He whispers in their ear and terrifies them with his warning. -Numbers 12 6 And the LORD said to them, "Now listen to me! Even with prophets, I the LORD communicate by visions and dreams." So by these two verses from the Bible im sure that we both will agree that dreams are indeed inspired, authored and committed by God himself.I am still researching and may find it nessecary to recant my earlier statement that this persons dream may be of the enemy. But without a doubt the scriptures indicate that dreams are of the supernatural, Whether set into motion by God in nature or deemed nessecary bu th Lord in which to impart something particular. As far as my qualifications go, it would seem brother, that if I could fit the qualifications of my brother Joeseph ( a young poor shepard) then surely I may feel bold (with the spirit of the Lord in me) to venture a guess, based on Biblical truth and guidance from the Holy Spirit.please take note on what happened when the Pharaoh called upon the "magicians" and "wisemen" of the day..... -Genesis 41 8 The next morning, as he thought about it, Pharaoh became very concerned as to what the dreams might mean. So he called for all the magicians and wise men of Egypt and told them about his dreams, but not one of them could suggest what they meant. -Job 7 14 "you shatter me with dreams. You terrify me with visions." In summary my friend....it would seem from the very word of the Lord that dreams were a common way to communicate...and that God chose very common people to convey their meanings..you use the term "qualified individual" I translate that as "wisemen" who couldn't begin to discern their meaning. The Lord said; "I will use the foolish things of this world to shame those who think they are wise." I consider myself neither a dream translater or a wiseman, but I DO know that I have indeed had similar dreams or visions in my past. I neither sought any worldly explanation or translation but called upon brothers and sisters to help me pray for meaning. I hope that out brother and sister will see that finding the solution to an obvious spiritual incident will require a spiritual answer. Take care my brother, all said in Love and Christian kindness....... |

Hi lgtg, First of all I have to apologize to shey for I will not be speaking to her question since I feel that she should talk to someone who knows her. It has been known to happen in the past that our threads on the forum get off subject. If you think it best we can go to another thread. I have been thinking of the Holy Spirit and a desire to not quench His spirit lately. So I was thinking of what you have said and your Scripture references. 1) What do you think of "the spirit of the Lord" that is in you that makes you feel bold to venture an opinion about shey's dream? 2) In relation to the above question, which version would you go with for Genesis 41:38? Genesis 41:38, NASB, "Then Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find a man like this, in whom is a divine spirit?" Genesis 41:38, NKJ, "And Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?" From the heart, Ray |

Ray, Grace be to you brother!! Thank you for taking time to share and fellowship with me. I read your bio Ray and will keep you in prayer and can see that indeed the Lord is with you in your journey through this cancer in your life. Ray, at some risk I will try to answer your questions as if you have not allready noticed I have been warned by two other brothers about my comment in this thread yet I have been served no reason or explination on what I have said that was wrong. I would welcome any correction as long as it will serve to glorify God and not man. To answer your questions; I am partial to the NKJV as it has been available here in my home but over time I am acquiring other translations for greater amplification.... I have been known to read from the Message Bible, Ampliphied and the New Living Translation. In context to what I was saying in my post, I would have to say it was leaning to the NKJ I am reading in your post above.I would like to ass some additional verses that support my comment and all will be from the NKJV; - 1 Corinthians 3 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? -1 Corinthians 2 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. - Romans 8 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. -Romans 8 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. The Lord said that He would pour out His Spirit upon all flesh....Which to me is astounding because in what Ive come to understand that when the word flesh had been used in this context it usually had a negative bearing. In other words God didn't have a whole lot of interest in our flesh because it is highly corrupted. But to imagine the Lord pouring his Spirit on ALL flesh will be quite some event. Ray, don't know if I have said what you have asked but I know that I have been blessed by communicating with you my friend and that I hope to again have a chance. Take Care and I shall pray for your cancer my friend. Larry |
