Greetings capemay! God the Father sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to be born of a woman and to take on the form of a human, being fully God and fully human at the same time. Jesus had to become like us so that He could identify with us, live a perfect sinless life, and die for us on the cross. Only a perfect sacrifice would be able to redeem the world of its sins, and only God could provide this, sending His own Son, who was with God before the beginning of the world. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him." (John 3:16-17) And Jesus was resurrected on the third day following His crucifixion, so that He could sit at the right hand of His Father in heaven, so that He could prayerfully intercede to the Father on our behalf until He makes His return to earth. Blessings to you, Nolan |
