1 | meaning of numbers in the bible | NT general Archive 1 | Makarios | 21904 | ||
Greetings Casiv! I've studied the Bible for the greater part of my life and I've also taken Trigonometry and Calculus- all the way up to Calculus 3 and 4 at Indiana Wesleyan University, with superb grades. However, even with all of this knowledge of Scripture and Mathematics, I still cannot find any logical sense or continuity in determining that numbers have a "significant" meaning in the Bible! We should NOT use the Bible to become good statisticians and mathematicians. We should use the Bible to become filled with the Holy Spirit and learn more about God! This whole discussion with numbers and the Bible is attempting to move the focus of this Forum away from the Bible itself, and it cannot lead to anything productive. In Christ, Nolan |

Hi Nolan, I am sorry you feel this way. I appreciate your opinion but I wish you would not respond to this because in my opinion you are denying something written by the Father which is very important. I believe the numbers prove the word true. If you want to take the numbers at face value that is your perogative. The Father is perfect and so are His numbers and in my opinion they have meaning to Him. I appreciate your academics but the Father has said in His letter what He will do to the wisdom of this world. If the numbers are not important then what would it have mattered if He made the world in 20 days or if he made man the 4th day? By saying numbers only have a face value I feel you are saying it wouldn't matter if the ark was 34 cubits by 22 cubits by 345 cubits. The Father is perfect and so is His word and numbers which are there in my opinion to further our understanding. If you want to disagree that is your choice but please disagree and move on. You know what I believe and unless you can prove with scripture where it says the numbers are not important please respect my opinion. Thanks in Jesus, Casiv |

Ok Casiv, you asked for Scripture.. "Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith. Grace be with you." (1 Timothy 6:20-21 [NIV]) - Nolan |

Greetings Casiv! I'm laughing at your alleged "superior intellect".. :-) I really see no point in discussing any subject whatsoever with you on this Forum in the future. It would do us a lot of good if we just ignored your posts. Have a good day, Nolan |
