Ken My sources are before me Dr. David Jeremiah. Dake, Horton, Morris, and MacArthur who I quote "The lion, calf, man, and eagle have been understood as referring to the four Gospels with their distinctive portrayals of Christ. However, the description recalls the four cherubim in Ezek. 1:4–10, and thus the four figures probably represent four different angels (see Ezek. 10). These living creatures or angels seem to be associated with creation and its ultimate redemption." Radmacher, E. D. (1997). The Nelson study Bible : New King James Version. Includes index. (Re 4:7). Nashville: T. Nelson Publishers. |

I'm a bit surprised they wouldn't mention that aspect since all four images portray Jesus Christ. I have Dake in my library. I'll chaeck him out. Hoton and Morris I'm not familiar with. I'm usually not in much agreement with Jeremiah; too much emphasis on salvation and not enough on what's after that.. McArthur, much the same. [I worked at his fathers office years ago.] I'll see if I can find and share my sources with you. Thanks EdB. BTW, What do you think? That's more important than what they say.... |

Ken hepting Actually I can live with either way but I suspect when we get to heaven we will find there are far deeper meanings. Don't want to sound like I'm to copping out, but whether it is pointing to the four gospels or to God's creation they still glorify God. EdB |
