1 | Whose Son is He? | Bible general Archive 1 | Bern | 82964 | ||
Jesus is the son of David through the line of Mary. The dilemma is this – in what way is Jesus David’s son if Jesus is God? Was any of Mary's genes actually in Jesus? How does an immortal being come to the earth and become mortal? That means he was not immortal in the first place! Lots of Questions, I'm afraid no one will give me a reasonable answer. Puzzled, Bernie. |

Greetings Bern! Scripture never goes into the level of detail to answer the question of whether or not Jesus actually had some of Mary's genes. I would suspect that He did. However, I couldn't imagine anyone not considering a son, born of a woman, to not be that woman's heir! :-) So, if for no other reason than that Jesus was born of Mary, He was an heir of David. As to mortality, where is there any logical problem with an all powerful God taking upon Himself human flesh? God has the power to do what what He wants! :-) Phil. 2:5-11 pretty much deals with all of your questions my friend! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
