1 | is there gender in the spirit? | Bible general Archive 1 | BradK | 52824 | ||
Hi Nathaniel, The Spirit is described in personal terms grammatically. The Greek word for Spirit(pneuma) is nueter in gender(which means it's neither male nor female). However, the Bible uses masculine pronouns(He, Him) to refer to the Spirit(Jn 16:13-14, 15:26; 16:7-8). See also, John 14:26 and Rom.8:26,29 where we see the Spirit act in personal ways. I hope this helps. Yours In Christ, BradK |
