I've been told that black people originated when one of Moses's son's was maikung fun of him for being drunk. Is there and scripture to base this on if not how do we explain the different races and does scripture say anything about interracial marriages and child bearing? -a concerned parent who loves the Lord |

I've been told that black people originated when one of Moses's son's was maikung fun of him for being drunk. I agree with the others regarding bigotry. It has no place in the kingdom. I disagree that God turned any people group black (or white - I see no evidence that Adam was a white guy) as a punishment or a reward, for anything. One of Noah's sons made fun of him when Noah got drunk and saw him naked. For that bit of irreverence, Noah cursed his son AND his descendants to be servants. See Gen 9(for the story), 10(for the genealogy of Noah's descendants) and 11(for the story of the tower of Babel, which some believe shows how families became people groups, which became ethnicities, which became nations.) God bless you and your family. "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do" applies to each and every one of us. We are equal oppurtunity sinners, and our Jesus is an equal oppurtunity savior. I pray that our obsession with race can come to an end soon. Let it rain on all |

from what i have researched on this theory is it has mostly been used to justify bigotry and racism. people have said that if someone is cursed by GOD then they deserve to be treated bad, or that they get what is coming to them. If you look up Acts 17:26( the background for this verse is when Paul was in Athens and saw that the whole city was given over to idolatry, he saw a altar to the unknown god and he declared to them the true and living GOD who made the world and every living thing)Paul goes on to say (through the inspiration of the HOLY SPIRIT) that GOD has made one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth. if you would like to get a book on this subject go to answersingenesis.org look in books for ONE BLOOD. I live just north of cincinnati and when the "riot" happened answers in genesis put up 40 billboards saying we are of all one blood pray this helps you

As a white boy who grew up in the southern United States in the '40's and '50's, I learned from first-hand observation how ugly a business racism is. We have made great strides in eliminating racism in our society in the last 50 years or so, but as long as a vestige of racism remains, our work is not complete. That the teaching of Christ is compatible with racism is unthinkable. --Hank
