miovangogh, The early church followe the Sepyuagint canon of the Greek translation of the Old Testament which in common used among all non Hebrew speaking Jews at the time of Christ. The Hebrew canon was not finalized by the Jews until about 100 years after Christ's crucifixion and resurrection. Later the Protestant Reformers chose for a variety of reasons to go with the Hebrew canon. For more on this see http://www.catholic.com/library/Old_Testament_Canon.asp Enmmaus |

hi Emmaus-I don't know how wise i was in doing this but the spirit does "bear witness"-when i read the apocrypha it just didn't ring true so i treat it as interesting but not scripture-My objection is that it seems not to point to Jesus. in Him angel 9

Angel9, One might ask how the spirit can bear witness to something that does not ring true. Is it the spirit or the internal bell that is out of tune? Emmaus |

Hi Emmaus thx for reply--This is worth much thought---and study----The spirit "bears witness" to that which is true and also to that which is not "true"--There are many counterfiets -we who belong to Him must be able to see the counterfiets---the "spirit" "helps" us see both--especially now when the false "signs and wonders "are coming forth.most certainly it is not "the spirit" that is "out of tune"!-you didn't address the most important issue---Jesus and his work are not the focus of the apocrapha--signs and wonders are. in Him--angel9
