Pigs Created That Carry Human Genes! Concerning a news article at: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,66345,00.html "WASHINGTON — By manipulating swine sperm, Italian researchers have made a strain of pigs that carry human genes in their hearts, livers and kidneys, an advance that could lead to creating herds of pigs that could provide organs for transplanting into humans." Is this an abomination or what? It seems that no one cares how God feels about his creation design being twisted, sliced, or diced. Should the "ends" (everlasting life) justify ANY "means"? There is a continuing move to live forever without God. Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people. Psalm 24 1 The earth is the LORD's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. Should Christians remain silent on these things? Pastor Glenn |

PastorGlenn, It is situations like this in the filed of bioetthics that argue strongly for the need of an authoritative teaching voice for the Church. These matters are not addressed in scripture, but scripture can give the proper frame of reference for determining the morality of various actions. I know that the Catholic Church has strong formal opinions and teachings in this area. There are also Evangelicals making their positions known, but they have no binding authority on members of the various Evangelical churches. Emmaus |

Emmaus, I like how you said, "...scripture can give the proper frame of reference for determining the morality of various actions. " I feel that we should examine the scriptures, pray, and then take a stand for or against: James 1 5If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
