JMSCOTT: Am I reading you wrong? Please tell me whether I err. I get the distinct impression in your posts that you are down-playing the importance and the role of the written word of God, all the while using the written word in an effort to substantiate your points. Surely my inferences are not what you seem to me to be implying. Would you state, simply, clearly and fully, how you view the written word of God and what importance you attach to it? Do you, for instance, believe it is the inerrant and only guide and authority for our faith and practice? Please be as forthright and plain as you can. It is a vital issue and of utmost importance to my mind. --Hank

jeremiah 31:31-34..ot !corinthians 3 the whole chapter!Of course "one" way for us to know something about our father could be to have read it!But undeniably the the way the to get his spirit is has to give to us in anyway he wants to give it to us.Read Hebrews 8:8-10,13.I use the bible to explain this to you because if I don't maybe you won't understand me otherwise. So of course i will use the bible to explain what I mean.To some the father uses his creation to explain himself.Read romans 1:19-20.I do "not" downplay the the importance of the written word.but Hank...why do bibles replace the name of God in their bibles when he told moses that his name would last forever and from generation to generation. One of the ten commandments is not to take his name in vain(substitute, call him something else, remove because to sacred to pronounce, mispell, think doesn't matter what you call him.)This is why he said it would be written on our hearts and minds. What is your dad's name? How would you feel if someone called your father by another name? After you have told them what it is,on numerous occasions. The time for putting aside our father's name has come to and.He will no longer tolerate it.The scripture say that the bible is abt jesus.Read luke 24:27,44 and 45.Out of the mouth of babes will the spirit be spoken. Not through the educated and well spoken...those who have read many bibles..and taught in front of folks. He gives his spirit to whom he wants.Read romans 14:17....do you know what forthright means?to be honest, tell the truth no matter what the masses think!I can look to the stars and know who my father is.Or look at how the salmon every year swim upstream risking the life to hatch eggs,or the birds fly south for the winter to know who my father is.What don't you know your body is a temple of God?(tabernacle in hebrew)said paul, why because he knew the real "word" was the son in us.I speak not according to what human wisdom but spirit.Read the "hidden secret and hidden wisdom of God."1 Corinthians 2:7-16. there so many mistranslated bibles in the world hank,so you see his main way of teaching is the holy spirit matthew 28:20...peace and blessings

JMSCOTT: You give scriptural references as "proof" of your points, but they don't in any sense corroborate what you are saying. For instance, you cite Matthew 28:20 to "prove" that the Holy Spirit is God's main way of teaching, yet this verse is part of Jesus commission to His disciples to go into all the world and teach (preach) the gospel. There is a definite sense in which the Holy Spirit teaches, but it is NOT in the sense that you appear to be using it. The Holy Spirit inspired the words of the Bible; the Holy Spirit indwells in the heart of the regenerate believer. But the Holy Spirit does not ignore or go beyond the written word of God; He does not provide special revelation to every human being on the face of the earth. The Scriptures, my friend, are true, are complete, are God's inerrant revelation of Himself. To assert otherwise defies what the Scriptures themselves teach. And, by the way, how do you know "there are so many mistranslated Bibles in the world"? Are you a translation expert and have you seen all translations around the world? From what perspective are you coming? In other words, what is your church affiliation? --Hank
