Hi JMScott, I looked at 2 Corinthians 3 and 1 Timothy 3:16 and found a contrast that relates to the concern for you that I have along with Hank. I think that you should consider these to know how you should conduct yourself in the household of God and consider just where your confidence is coming from. 2 Corinthians 3:4, "And such *confidence we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life...how shall the ministry of the Spirit/ fail to be even more with glory?" 1 Timothy 3:13, "For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a high standing and great *confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus....I write so that you may know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth. And by common confession great is the mystery of godliness: He who[God]was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Beheld by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory." Is your faith in Christ Jesus? Is your confidence through Christ toward God? 2 Corinthians 2:14, "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in His triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of (Him) in every place." Hebrews 8:11, "And they shall not teach everyone his fellow citizen, And everyone his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' For all shall know (Me), From the least to the greatest of them." Hebrews 8:6, "But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as (He) is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises." Don't think that you are going to overturn everything that we have been taught by the word of God. From the heart, Ray |

dear ray where is the house of god a building! this internet website,at your church. And in case you did not read what i wrote i said god will overturn everything not me!Re-read that again Corinthians 3 rd chapter and not pick out verses read the whole chapter.I assume then this whole website should be shut down then. Are you familiar with the phrase "The pot calling the kettle bLack."If you quote scriptures on how someone should teach apply them to yourself!Read Acts 17:24-29...his house is not a place made with hands.I know where my confidence is and comes from Why do you read the bible at Exodous 6:3 and proceed to still call him lord.that is a title one the ten commandments is not take his name in vain!He said his name would last to all generations of man.Why don't you after you read the bible teach that the holy spirit really does all the work.why don't you teach that our body is the temple of god not a building?some people can't walk or see, or hear how do they get his word, some have never seen a bible in their lives,so you see it is in the heart not. I learned about him through holy spirit! His spirit does not need to be written down, but notice i said but!he does it for those of us who need to read it.He uses all of his creation to let us know who he is romans 1:18-20...read 1 Corinthians 14:36...by the way i am not saying you cannot congregate in a buliding or hut or house to hear the gospel, but that is not definetly where his spirit resides most of the time.Where does it reside when you go home?to school?to work..and and asleep...The first place you should "always" look for the spirit is in your heart.what good is it to read something and then go out and sin!You have a heart and conscious for that.Remember he told the Prophet Joel the day's will come and i will pour out my spirit on every sort of flesh.they see visions, and prophesy...i leave you with 1 corinthians the 2nd chapter....peace and blessings Ray |
