Jesus did preach to the those awaiting the Messiah in Sheol. Remember before the death and resurrection of Jesus, Sheol held both the righteous and unrighteous dead. The righteous were waiting for their Messiah to lead them to Heaven and the unrighteous still await judgement with their final destination the Lake of Fire. The people Jesus preached too, didn't get a second chance they were Old Testament saints that had died righteous believing in the promise of the Messiah. Jesus paid for their sins along with ours. 3 | Why did Jesus Go to Hell | 1 Pet 3:19 | EdB | 109568 | ||
Change sides? No we are only given a whole life time to make our decision. Jesus preached He was the Messiah that God had promised and faithfully furnished. These men died looking for the Messiah, depending on the Messiah to provide their righteousness. Jesus proclaimed He was the One and had the victory and lead them home. It was a victory celebration rather than a salvation service. EdB |
