Greetings desertone! I believe that Romans 8:38-39 parallels John 13:1 in the fact that God loves us to the uttermost! Romans 8:28-39 is an affirmation that the Lord will keep us in spite of everything that happens in our lives (John 10:28-30), and that our God is faithful indeed! He will perfect us and finish the work that He has started, intending to present us faultless before Himself (Jude 24). Since the Holy Spirit has sealed us (Eph. 4:30) and placed us into the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:13), then I conclude that Romans 8:38-39 is another affirmation that a truly born again believer cannot lose their salvation! I believe that if one rejects the faith after previously confessing Jesus as Lord, then they were never truly saved to begin with.. Blessings to you, Nolan |
