1 | Who is the subject of this verse? | Heb 4:10 | DocTrinsograce | 125383 | ||
Some commentaries state that the "one" mentioned in this verse is the believer. While others indicate that this is not to be understood as the believer, but rather as Jesus Christ Himself. Frankly, I rather prefer the latter interpretation since it fits so nicely in with the rest of the chapter. I am curious about how others might see this. If you would be so kind as to respond, if possible please substantiate your opinion with scripture. :-) |

DocTrinsograce: Drettings. Nice to have you in the forum. In reading your profile, I wonder where one could fine the 1689 Confession of Faith? You have peeked my interest. Thank you for the information, and filling out a profile, that really helps us know one another a little better rather than a name on a computer screen. Blessings. justme |

Hi, justme! Thank you for making me feel welcome. :-) You can find the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith at www.founders.org/library/bcf/confession.html If you want to see this confession in "modern" English, there's a pretty good "translation" at www.vor.org/truth/1689/1689bc00.html I love the old creeds and confessions. They tend to sum things up so well... and almost every one of them grew out of believers dealing with heresy or error. Great stuff! Of course, first and foremost is the doctrine of sola scriptura. The scriptures are the sure anchor... everything must be grounded in that rock! |
