This was as my pastor puts it our last go around. I would like as much input as i can. Allow me to push back on a couple of thoughts. You found several things disturbing in this latest go around... What if I came to the point in reading the gospels when Jesus said “love God love others” and I read no further but gave my life to doing just that...do you think God would care that I knew nothing about the rapture or the tribulation or revelation or and the list could go on. Why get so caught up in thinking that the rapture ought to be the litmus test for being a “good” Christian? A personal question...has your study of Scripture led you to being a more loving person? Was the prophecy that you know, given to motivate you or those around you who do not know it? What if God reveals prophecy to you so that you would recognize the times and do your part of loving others into the kingdom? Because if you are not careful the knowledge you have can lead to a judgmental attitude towards others who do not know the same things. I do not need to know the house is on fire to recognize someone trying to help me. What if from a Jewish perspective six literal days was not the point of Genesis one and two but rather to give God the credit for being the creator? Does it change anything? |

Hello gkidder, Am I missing something on this? I get a feel that this is or was a dialog between you and your pastor? Was he debating that the entire bible is inspired? Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Yes! and Prophecy in general This is just one example of the many midrash, as the Jewish people call it that I have been having with my Pastor over the issue of teaching prophecy. In short it all got started when I presented an idea for teaching Prophecy to the children ministry. I wanted to donate some teaching material from the David Reagan’s ministry. Lamb and Lyons ministry. He had written an excellent children’s book entitled the second coming of Christ. This was rejected by my Pastor and this is what has lead to our corresponding on this whole issue. I would greatly appreciate you input I feel that I’m all alone and frankly I’m running out of material to defend my position. Some else’s view point my be of great help. Tony |

If you do not have any other problems with your pastor, let it go. If you cannot, then move on to another congregation where you feel more accepted. Titus 3:1 Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, Titus 3:2 to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. |
