I have witnessed the amazing healing grace of God through my wife. It did not come all at once. Matthew 9:22 But Jesus turning and seeing her said, "Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well." At once the woman was made well Gods healing came in bursts over many months and still continues. Matthew 6:33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. It did not come from a faith healer. Mark 16:18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Although a well known faith healer opened the door. Matthew 10:20 "For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. Doctors, definitely helped but in the end real healing began through faith and forgiveness. Matthew 5:22 "But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, 'You good-for-nothing,' shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, 'You fool,' shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell. It is truly amazing how the flesh can hold in so much anger. Matthew 6:12 'And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors Matthew 18:21 Then Peter came and said to Him, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?" Faith in the word has to be developed. Joni Eareckson Tada trained hard to become an athlete. She now joins the rest of us in training to walk in faith. May the Blood of Jesus free us from sin. BBQ |

Dear BBQ, Steven, the first Christian martyr, was stoned to death despite the fact that the Scripture describes him as a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit...Acts 6:5. If I understand your theology correctly, Stephen could have been set free and escaped execution if only he had exercised his God given faith. It is also a fact that of all the apostles John alone was not murdered! I cannot bring myself to believe that only one of the twelve had the kind of faith that produced such a miraculous escape from untimely death. Were all but John insufficiently "trained"? I'm sorry my friend, but apart from singling out a handfull of verses (without a word to their context) you fail to convince me of their application to your premise. I believed as you do at a time in my life, and I know where you are coming from. Indeed, had it not been for God's grace, I might still be entrapped in error. It is my prayer that God will grant you grace as well. In the grip of God's grace, John |

Why pray if you do not feel it will be answered? Because you do? I never said how your prayers will be answered? I hope in this case I will will receive insight into what Jesus meant when he said your prayers will be answered, and I am assuming you mean for me to have that insight. Thank you in Christ BBQ |

Brother BBQ, the implication was that spiritual growth (training in faith) increases the possibility of prayer being answered according to our desires. Our prayers are always answered, and those answers are always given for our good...what we have to remember is that what we see as the best answer is not the necessarily the way God sees it. Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. John |
