Hello bobnstar, I would not say that it is in violation of God's law to work on Sunday, because it is hard to determine which day is the Sabbath. He doesn't say don't work on Sunday. I believe a good rule for today is to work six days and rest on the seventh, that is mentioned often. We should do the best we can, if your seventh day doesn't line up with everyone elses, I wouldn't debate it, allow the Lord to direct your steps. I do believe you should take one day in seven to rest. That seems to be sufficient for God, or he would not have said it. I believe we will know which day is the Sabbath as we grow closer to our Lord, He will reveal it, and we will with one mind keep that prescribed day, of one accord. I think it is interesting the way God determines as a day, look at Gen 1:5, God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day. , It seems to start at noon ( beginning of evening) and ends at noon (at the end of the morning). I hope this helps you, wordoer |

While having the utmost respect for you and your right to express your opinion, I strongly disagree that we don't know which day of the week is the seventh day. The Christian world considers Sunday to be the first day of the week. Logically, it follows that if Sunday is the first day of the week, then Saturday is the seventh day. The Jewish people have been observing the Saturday Sabbath for about 3,500 years now. There is no confusion among them about which day of the week is the seventh day. If the seventh day is unknown and unknowable, then various Jewish sects could observe various days of the week. But that is not the case. Among them there is universal agreement that Saturday is the seventh-day sabbath. In the Law, God never said pick a day, any day. He specifically said the seventh day. It is a poor argument to claim that we don't know which day of the week is the seventh day. We don't have to draw closer to the Lord to get a revelation telling us when sunrise or sunset or the full moon takes place. Likewise, it takes no special revelation to figure out that Saturday is the seventh day of the week. |
